Horseplayers Association of North America Track Rankings

I found these articles to be interesting on Bloodhorse.com... http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...-track-ratings

It seems to me, if Oaklawn is serious about increasing the number of dollars bet into their "Classix" pool they should lower the take out.

13. Santa Anita
14. Del Mar
15. Gulfstream Park
16. Louisiana Downs
17. Delta Downs

I'm sure Ellis Park on the strength of the 4% takeout on the Pick 4 will be REALLY high on this list.

fair grounds should be in top ten just because of the women in there in orleans and the food.:{>: :tro:

Turfway Park > Santa Anita, Gulfstream and Del Mar?

They must have assigned bonus points to having the most annoying track announcer in history.

They canned that cause no one was betting it outside of like three people on this forum.

Pool size and quality of racing certainly has nothing to do with the rankings if Fonner Park is anywhere near the top twenty. I defy anyone outside of Nebraska (Not a slam agains NB, I'm sure they are excited and proud of their homebred program and facility) to look at the condition book for opening day and honestly say they'd risk a nickel there. Unless you have a penchant for $2500 4 furlong claiming races that is.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the quality of racing, just how hard they work to appease the horseplayer through low takeouts, lots of available wagers, large field sizes, etc. Here's some more info, I think they are releasing the rankings 1-65 and all the data used to produce those rankings once they finish the top ten:
