Tampa Thursday Pick 4

Looks very playable for a reasonable amount.

1,5/2,7,8/1,8,9,10/5,6

Can play it even cheaper if you willing to stand against Ritchey's firster in the opening leg.

Kev, As long as Centeno's mount goes in the first leg, Bennett's a single for me there even against Richey. If he thought that horse had low 70's speed first out he'd be down south, and that's what it will take here. Agree completely with ya on the 2nd leg, but with the single I'm spreading deeper in the last two.

1//2,7,8//2,4,6,8,9//1,5,6,8,11

Centeno has joined the ranks of Ferrer. I simply cant trust him as a single.

Bigs will tell you. I can't catch him.

He's no Ferrer, but he's had some troubling/puzzling defeats this year.

I'd be a lot more leary of him if I were playing his mounts in a verticle bet. He seems to have a bit of the Desormeaux Syndrome.

It's tough to single any leg at Tampa....ever.

My lucky $20 ticket

1/2,4,7,8,9/1,8,9,10/5

Rudeboyelvis 01-15-2009 11:21 AM

Scratches

Race # Horse # Name
5 11 Estrella Victoria
5 12 Athens Two O Four
5 13 Indian Opal
5 14 Ada Clare
7 1 Conchacer (POE)
7 3 Mr No Socks
10 2 Emma's Rose

I'm adding the 10 in the 9th on the drop....Steep ticket with a single, but been bit here enough to know that if you've got a single opportunity, take it and catch the price (and there will be one) in the later legs. Centeno rapidly removes his head from his ass when riding for Dale Bennett or Jamie Ness - he's not fucl<ing that up, believe me.

1//2,7,8//2,4,6,8,9,10//1,5,6,7,8 = 90.00.

Anyone playing Gulfstream? I think the 1st looks interesting...One would think you just gotta take on Salute the Count here.

From a breeding standpoint, the 5 - Bally Buff, does not look like a monster first out. Forbidden Apple is below average with firsters and the fact that he can still command a $5k fee is beyond me. Bally Buff's half brother by Hennessy is still a maiden after 13 tries.

That said, Ritchey's 21% with firsters and the gelding has been working well. Tough call, but if the 1A improves off his last, I don't think this one can run with him.

Look for the 2 - Coastal Art to be picking off horses late. His two works at Classic Mile are not bad for that deep strip. He'll be legged up after those works. Not a threat to win, but a big threat to hit the board at a big price.

My P4:

7 - 1A
8 - 1,2,7
9 - 1,4,5,6,9
10 - 5,6,8,11

unfreakingreal.... I loved Wakivia Wachee in the 9th... simple include of the logical Richey horse nets 3K for a buck

That horse cost me the pick 4. It sucks when you single a 10-1ML horse in the last leg and he wins. :wf
