Showing Up raced 1x on the grass (easy romp of nothing special). Not much to post. He doesn't have the regal breeding of EC (Pletcher has another Smart Strike, Twilight Meteor that won the other day) but he is freakishly fast. The 3yr olds progress quickly, EC has already peaked and is a great horse, but no lock. All the American older horses are just a notch below the euros. Hopefully SU will even the playing field. We will settle this on the track at Belmont this fall.

so what your saying is, you can't compare the two horses???? That's what I have been trying to tell you all along.

Trust me, I have Twilight Meteor already on my watch list. Any horse that closes the way he did on Sunday, into those SLOOOOOW fractions and comes from last to first, you know he has the potential to be something special.

EC is a much more accomplished horse than SU. SU though is the best 3yr old turf horse. If he keeps progressing he can compete with the older horses. I stick up for SU because my friend was calling me a coward for letting Oracle and MP3 bash him when he went head to head with Kip Deville. The ridiculous statements before and after the race by them were nonsense, saying KD would have beaten SU by 5 if he had a good jockey is comical. I hope SU does well because I am going to get some freebies when he retires, but he is no Barbaro, not yet atleast.

EC is very good, but he will have his work cut out for him with Relaxed Gesture.

A couple buddies and I pinhooked twilight meteor (from weanling to yearling) and was pretty jacked up on sunday to see how he ran. not sure what kind of number he got but his move was impressive, going 4-5 wide into the turn heading into the stretch, wearing down the leaders and then a quick, short burst of speed right at the end (last 2.5f in 29 1/5). I thought for sure he was going to finish 2nd or 3rd. We refered to him as the 2nd coming of English Channel and we rode EC's coattails (sold him in Fasig Tipton July, right after the VA Derby). I hope he turns out to anywhere near the horse that EC is. Cant wait to check him out when I get up to the Spa.

Relaxed Gesture will not be an easy foe for English Channel next week. It has all the makings of being as exciting as the Arlington Million.

I happen to think Go Between may be the better of the two, but that is just my opinion. I think Manchu Prince is also gonna be good next year too as a 4YO.

Go Between could be, but considering Showing Up destroyed him in their only meeting I will stick with SU. We were told Mott's other After Market, is probably better than Go Between but he is still very green, and will run in the Hall of Fame at Saratoga. Manchu Prince doesn't impress me at all.

Im a big fan of Go Between because he is a PG baby and I was all over him in the Palm Beach at Gulf this winter.

Go Between probably will be the better betting value in the Secretariat. I am hoping to get 2-1 on Showing Up, but not likely. The field is looking very weak and maybe only 7 horses.
