Yeah, there's something seriously wrong with a system that has the best team in the country (USC) sitting at home on Jan 8.

What is this women's gymnastics ... or college football???

Until these nitwits get a playoff system is in place, the whole thing is an absolute joke...

Just think, they SPEND time & :$: coming up with this BCS,,, Be glad they dont throw darts @ a dartboard !

I think the BCS games are good.

Thinking about it I would have rather seen the following:

Texas v. Alabama
Oklahoma v. Florida (no change)
USC v. Texas Tech
Utah v. Penn. St.

rest dont care.

And yes I realize it we would not be allowed to see 3 Big 12 teams.

Whats the over/under on amount of years it takes for the people in charge to wake the phuck up and implement a playoff scenario??

They have a contract with Espn through 2013 and ABC does 2014. I think a playoff could be worked out in conjunction with BCS but it will take some tinkering.

Im not holding my breathe.

Trying to remember what it was like before the BCS, just thinking of the major bowls and how it may have looked this year:

Rose: USC vs. Penn St.
Sugar: Florida vs. Texas
Orange: Oklahoma vs. Alabama
Fiesta: Utah vs. Ohio St.

I have to say the BCS comes out a little better this year.

I don't think anyone would say the BCS is not an improvement over the old system. However, it is just a tiny baby step in the right direction.

before the Bcs and the B12. the cotton bowl was the fifth major bowl. that would have taken a SWC team (texas, tt). OU would have been the B8 winner and off to the orange bowl. fla-sugar, rose p10-b10, fiesta got it's choice of second place teams usually b8 (okst) and ? Bama would have had it's choice orange, cotton, fiesta. fiesta not tied to a conference always ended up with the best game. utah and boise had NO shot at a NY day's game.

probably longer. college ball has never been so popular. unless they saw a serious drop off in fan interest, i doubt they change.

I would love to see Texas vs Alabama also (Bama would crush em')

USC would kill tech also...

The Big 12 would finally have to play teams with a......... DEFENSE!!

Tech & USC would be a blowout... much better with USC and Penn State.

They need to place the Big 12 teams against schools with no D so they can look good..

Poor matchups

THe odds say it all. Just too many double digit favorites.

BUT

Taking the big underdog in the big bowls has often been profitable because the favs get overconfident. There will be upsets.

I'm a Trojan fan and I see a real danger in one too many trips to Pasadena for USC and possibly not being as razor sharp for this edition of the Rose Bowl as they should be.

I'm not a Trojan fan, but based on what they did to Ohio State and what PSU didn't do to OSU, I don't know how you can't lay the 10.
