As of Wednesday, both Viscount and Hello Broadway were probable for the Remsen. Anyone know why they didn't enter?

blackthroatedwind 11-28-2008 12:57 PM

Hello Broadway got sick.

VOL JACK 11-28-2008 01:58 PM

Is Bribon good enough?? Looks like he will sit a great trip. (as will a few others)

I guess I will pay to find out.

In the Remsen I'll box Old Fashioned with American Dance

Take Strom Play in the Cigar Mile

Pick 3 (beginning with the Demoiselle): Sky Diva/ Old Fashioned - American Dance/Storm Play

blackthroatedwind 11-28-2008 08:53 PM

Mike, please don't bet Storm Play. He may be the least likely winner on the entire card.

Save the winner of the 5th race. Every horse in that race is the least likeliest winner on the card. What an awful bunch that is.

blackthroatedwind 11-28-2008 09:18 PM

I like the 5th tomorrow.

Really?? I would try and pry out of you who you like...but I know it would be to no avail.;)

Well, I'm glad you didn't say Storm Play had no shot at all, as I pre-bet early before reading Derby Trail

By the way, Andy, everytime you've told me to throw out a horse you've been right(I've been around under a different name on the web); you're due to be wrong just once

Got my Pick 3 wrapped up with Storm Play as a single, also

blackthroatedwind 11-29-2008 01:47 PM

My horse in the 5th was Smarteralex......he may have gotten one of the most comedically bad rides in history.

Springside

This really, really ticks me off about the sport - the blatent pretending and ignoring that something happened to Springside after the wire (I'm watching the track feed at home)

How about at least a little, "splinted and taken off in the ambulance"? If she's being euthanized on track, how about "being attended to on track" or at least some other euphanism?

Completely ignoring it happened - especially in a stakes race - doesn't cut it in this day and age.

Anybody there know what happened to her?

Andy - you guys should have said something prior to the next race.

Scav 11-29-2008 02:23 PM

Whoa on Old Fashioned.....Monster

Riot 11-29-2008 02:25 PM

Yeah, wow - very nice indeed!

(but I'll still watch for more Pletchers' slow-maturing babies, and the Smart Strike colt - it's early yet)

Any news on the filly?

I also was listening for an update....but have heard nothing so far

Riot 11-29-2008 02:34 PM

Didn't look catastrophic, fortunately - but a little acknowledgement and show of concern would go far to making the public think that this sport gives a damn about the horses' welfare.

I was going to say the same thing but didn't want to get involved.

How does Andy have anything to do with this, and he is smart enough not to say anything about it, anyone watching the live feed saw what happened......This aint General Hospital

blackthroatedwind 11-29-2008 02:46 PM

She has an injury to her right front pastern and they are taking X-rays.
