blackthroatedwind 08-02-2006 07:48 AM

They already did cancel.

GPK 08-02-2006 08:03 AM

Yeah...Oracle just called and informed me it was cancelled. Well....Deleware Park it is today then:D

Gander 08-02-2006 08:09 AM

I'd imagine they may cancel too, maybe a few races into the card. Cant be much cooler there either. 103 in NYC. 100 in DC.

boldruler 08-02-2006 08:40 AM

Good for them. Nice to see a rational decision. Add some of those to the weekend or just throw them on Tuesday.

slotdirt 08-02-2006 08:41 AM

Delaware Park? I have to imagine it's already 95 there. No way they should be running.

GPK 08-02-2006 08:43 AM

Is Anchorage Downs running today then???:D :D

Cancelled because of heat???...What kind of **** is that???

Oh my god....if the Northeast wants to see extreme conditions, just go to Louisiana Downs in Shreveport, Louisiana (or check it out on TV) and see what REAL extreme conditions are like.....95 degrees with humidity is a picnic....we run through 105 degrees and humidity down here.....can't really believe that 3 tracks actually cancelled because of heat in the northeast....that's half comedic to me...

These are actually horses running though, not slugs like down in LA. At Saratoga they actually run for money, not coupons to the local fish fry.

people and horses here are not adapted to extreme conditions of heat and therefore do not tolerate it as well as those of you that experience it regularly--much like if you were to arrive here in VT in january...you would freeze your *ss off while I would be cold but fine...

Bingo...I remember going to New Orleans in January...it was like 50 and I was wearing shorts. Everyone thought I was insane....
