Cleveland legend passes away...

Cleveland legend Herb Score passed away today. An absolutely dominating lefty his first two years in the league...most famous for being hit in the face by a Gil McDougald line drive in 1957. He became the team's radio voice in the mid 60s after a couple years on TV. Broadcast games through 1997...his last broadcast the game 7 World Series loss to the Marlins. I grew up with absolutely horrendous baseball and listening to Herb nightly through the 70s. By all accounts one of the classiest human beings in the game. One of his ex-broadcast partners said of Score, he witnessed more bad baseball than anyone on the planet! One of the most beloved figures in the generally horrid Cleveland sports scene.

Just saw this. He was something very special. Surprized Mort didn't comment.

The Indians get 2 runs on 3 hits and one error---2 left. At the end of 4 we remain in a scoreless tie.
