11/5: Aqueduct (4th-9th-C/O)

Nearly $50k in the Big A sextet pool Wednesday and a fun series of races to boot. One concern is a forecast calling for light but steady rain with an excellent overnight turf stake looking particularly challenging and entertaining. When last punting, took a 4 of 6 swing at Sunday's Hollywood carryover, and hope some capitalized on the $500 ($1) trifecta or $4,100 ($1) super laid out in the nightcap..

Where did they find him? I haven't seen his name in years. Made me think about another guy I haven't seen in awhile. Whatever happened to Raul Rojas?

I know... Pezua!

Rojas had to go to Puerto Rico (or somewhere) to take care of his mother or father or maybe a thing involving his wife's family. I forget the details. There was some kind of problem. I'll ask Dasilva about both. He's the maven on EVERYTHING jockey-related.

I like Rojas. Fed his wife & kids at the Barbecue several times.

Jackie Davis gets her first! Congrats to Robbie's daughter. 64-1 and a brilliant ride...

(And I think it's safe to start looking at Thursday for a double carryover..)

senior rita lady aint bad but she doesn't look all that game in the strecth

no price on the one i like = remy

EDIT - how did we miss that one? 4 turf winners by the dam, benzel is training his butt off, and this one is a big nice filly that showed she had talent right away in her career. one of those races that seem obvious after the fact

I didn't think the horse would be able to carry the distance. Benzel is doing a nice job after his tenure with Pletcher.

Brutal day at the Big A

I needed the 13 to win, or get second, in the last for a score. That was wonderful.

rkinnin 11-05-2008 06:13 PM

steve, maybe its time to start a new 'main thread' entitled Where are they now?

For jocks especially.

I remember a few weeks ago you mentioned the "Mountain" and that Ray Ganpath was there. Oddly enough Kyle Kaenel has ridden there in the past too.

Its nice to know that Pat V is/was riding at LA Downs

Ryan Fogelsonger is at Hawthorne too.
