Singletary pulls down his pants

Did you guys hear about this?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3675428

What did you think? Did he go too far?

Scav 10-31-2008 10:25 PM

No, he is Mike Singletary, he can do what he wants

Danzig 10-31-2008 10:36 PM

if they win, he can do what he wants. too soon to tell how things will shake out for him and the team.

dalakhani 10-31-2008 10:40 PM

wow...bold moves for an interim coach in his first stint.

throws a guy off the bench and then takes his pants down in the locker room. I think you need a little more juice before you start doing things like that.

Who the hell needs more juice than Singletary. He is one of the most respected men ever to grace the NFL.

as a player...and he hasnt done that in 20 years.

As a coach? He has already given ownership enough reason not to remove the "interim tag" at the end of the season and just give hiim the slip.

He comes across like a psycho.

I don't care how long it has been. You do the things he did on the football field, with the intensity that he did him and at the highest level week in and week out....you got juice for life....and I don't care what job capacity he may be employed in the NFL. I think you would be very hard pressed to find an individual in the NFL that doesn't think the same way.

You make a good point. Perhaps it works.

I think they actually have some talent...especially on the defensive side of the ball. I think Nolan is an idiot and i have no idea how he got that job. Ray Lewis should get a big fat check from Billick,Nolan and Marvin Lewis.

The problem is the passing game. QB and wideout are pretty rough.

BINGO!, He could do anything short of pistol whipping a guy in the clubhouse and still get away with it. The guy knows what it takes to be a winner.

As far as the job goes, right now he has nothing to lose. Maybe someone (including the 49ers) will see/like his intensity and give him a full time head coaching gig. At worse, he will end up with someone as a linebackers or D. cooridnator. But I give him credit, he took charge and is shaking things up. But I do also agree with Kev, there is a lack of talent on that team. Who ever is running things upstairs has done a very poor job.

SF may have a lack of talent but there is NO excuse in poor effort. vernon davis was luck that he Only got sent to the showers! he's luck he didn't land in the 5th row.
so what, he pulled his pants down at halftime and showed the team they were making asses of the 49er's and themselves. get over it. the next step for some of these guys will be out the door. samurai mike won't put with bad attitude or poor effort.

Do me a favor and watch the highlights of the game. Right before the half, J.T. Sullivan throws a pick that goes for a TD, tell me. Who is the only guy busting his ass to try to make the tackle?

I'm a long time 49er fan (since John Brodie and the 60's). Had a great run through the 80's into the mid-90's. Finally got to the point where I could see a couple of games a year in San Francisco. I have always liked the 49ers.

Now, I LOVE the Niners.

Yes, the Yorks (the "owners") have really screwed up a good thing. Hopefully, they will keep Singletary to make up for all the crap they have pulled previously. The Niners have enough talent to be a .500+ team. Just get rid of all the pets (first-round draft choices that haven't produced - hello, Alex Smith). I'm glad Shaun Hill is back starting. We'll have to see if Mike Martz is still with them after this year. Very creative offensive coordinator, but some team may think he can be a head coach. He's the fourth offensive coordinator in the last 4 years, so it's not a surprise that the offense is a little confused. :zz:

Is that J.T, O'Sullivan busting his ass? He did that on the previous play they showed... his fumble. Trying to save his job, I guess. Didn't happen. One turnover too make for Mike Singletary.

The one right before the half, Vernon Davis.

Antitrust32 11-01-2008 10:38 AM

the only thing messed up about him dropping his pants is that it was leaked out of the locker room.

IF you just took a stupid penalty and a HOF MLB was chewing your ass, would you be stupid enough to mouth off at him once let-alone twice?
i heard the SF beat reporter on the radio. he reported alot of laziness and "me first". davis is a major offender, singletary was not in postion before to do anything about it. he is now.
