Very scary looking, prayers out from here too.:( Jamie Theriot's horse Whacka, Whacka was the first to go down, Theriot was up and got in the ambulance. Hope they both are ok, that was awful to watch.:(

John V just taken to first aid (according to TVG) and not hospital..BOTH horses somehow survived that?? Incredible

mclem0822 10-03-2008 03:39 PM

Great news....

Both horses are ok, Johnny V's horse clipped heels following the 9 drifting over on him. Then the 6 went down as well. Johnny V at first aid so far being treated, that sounds like a good sign, hopefully.

It is incredible very bad looking falls.

booner 10-03-2008 03:44 PM

Theriot fine; Velaquez conscious, all extremities moving, vitals OK, taken to UK Trauma center (protocol for Kee) as a precaution.....

This reported by Jill Byrne on TVG.

mclem0822 10-03-2008 03:45 PM

Johnny V....

Stable, moving arms and legs, tranferred to trauma center for further xrays and treatment. If he did get stepped on, wonder if he may have fractured some ribs or worse.

booner 10-03-2008 03:46 PM

Just got home and missed the spill. Glad I did by the way some of you are talking about it.

Velaquez and Keeneland just don't get along. Remember the broken collarbone in the spring of '07?

Happy to hear both horses and riders are OK.
