Along with 7 billion other horses he is training up to the BC.

I guess if you look solely at the accomplishments of the Joe Hirsch field, it's not that bad. But realistically, no one in that field can finish on the board in the BC.

12 furlongs

Grand Couturier is talking a lot of smack in the stables.

Aside from the Vosburgh, that's a pretty lousy bundle of Grade 1's.

Kind of typical for these types of races though, no? Nobody really wants to go up against Ginger Punch or Mauralakana. I wonder if the weather scared anyone off. . .

does anyone think Fabulous Strike won't be ready off of only 1 prep race/walkover at Mountaineer?

FTFY, and I think he'll be ready for the challenge, and a mighty big challenge it will be. I smiled when I first seen the entries for this race. Interesting one to say the least.

I think Black Seventeen is the big worry, not the layoff. If they send Black Seventeen those two will set some torrid fractions and it could set up for an off the pace horse. Kodiak Kowboy has me mildly interested.

they both suck....
i would not use First Defence with your cash... i might use J be K only because you will get a price, but the horse to beat is clearly Lucky Island, i hope ppl get foolish with Fabolous Strike !!!!!!

Good Call. He'll need to break well as I am sure JbK to his inside and First Defense to his outside will try to break ahead and shut him down. He's been at Belmont since Saratoga. Horses trained there are typically at there best. Might be the last time to get decent odds on him.

Summer Patriot seems to have turned a corner. I want to be with him tomorrow when he gets his first Grade I

CSC 09-27-2008 11:20 AM

Does the cut in the ground move up Dynaforce today? I'm thinking she may go off as the 3rd choice today with people remembering Communique's excellent Beverly D. Very little speed in this race and to me Garcia is an upgrade from Kent D.

Mike 09-27-2008 02:17 PM

I debated long and hard about tri keying Curlin over Wanderin Boy and Mambo, but I feel Wanderin Boy will be too heavily used in the bottom of the exotics for their to be any decent payoff in that trifecta

I'll tri key Curlin over Mamboinseattle and Stones River.

Gotta watch out for the South Americans on off tracks. Cocoa Beach can give Ginger Punch fits, if she' ready.
