Figured Da Hoss would be the sentimental favorite...but voted Lure.

Rileyoriley 09-18-2008 07:38 PM

Miesque. First back to back winner and won it on soft then firm.

hrfan 09-18-2008 09:43 PM

i would have voted for Artie Schiller, but was forced to vote for Lure

Most people probably don't remember - but Artie Schiller was actually the favorite in the Mile the year before he won it.

I liked him a lot - but he would be a huge stretch.

Pg is to nerdy trail what lil wayne is to hip hop. Wildly popular yet retarded.

He'll always be hopelessly overlooked cause he beat Lefraudesanimaux and his sore feet, who happens to have been a good front running turfer which resulted in his speed figures being ridiculously overrated as they often are when a turf runner gets loose on the lead in a top race. The same Lefraudesanimaux that beat Artie exactly zero times in his entire career yet has thousands of people that will adamantly claim he was a superior horse.

I agree on that. I just think Artie always gets the shaft cause of Lefraud and his sore foot that everyone uses as an excuse for betting him and losing. Look back at Lefraud's PPs, the horses he was beating weren't exactly a who's who of horse racing.

I'm sure people got the same feeling in the Gavea Teletheatre when Senor Paco beat Lefraud by 23+ lengths in his debut.

I haven't been to the Schenectady OTB but I have to imagine the Wolf Rd one is a lot better, as shady as the Wolf Rd one is.

You are cutting up a very damn good horse.

He was no fraud.

I bet Artie Schiller in the mile the year he won - and I always liked him a lot - however, I don't think he deserved that Eclipse. Leroydesonmeaux - or however you spell it - was awesome that year.
