"Ruffian: Tough Tiz's Sis 113 ( Previous three Beyers: 97-96-94 )"

Its in the slop so this one may not be the same argument but just about every horse that goes from Synthetic to Dirt and wins somehow gets much faster. Beyer does not have a grasp of the synthetic surfaces, and frankly here is hoping he never does!

Thing is, Tough Tiz's Sis had run 11 races on dirt before Saturday and had a top figure of 95, so I don't think that argument makes much sense here.

Plus, she was beaten 6 1/4 lengths last time out and got a 97. How high did you want her figure to be?

thats why I said this case may not be the best argument...I would argue thought she is better the past 16 months then previous form. I am sure a data base guy could prove it out but thats not me....Its related to the pace and I will leave it at that.

I think both these horses are pretty nice, hard to believe they are so far behind their east coast counterparts....on figures that is.

Beyers aside, The most impressive performance on the day by far was by J'ray.

Why does Rahy need an attorney?

you mean you were not impressed with the Northern Dancer?

letswastemoney 09-10-2008 12:57 AM

synthetic beyers are on a 3rd surface. they are never supposed to have the same beyers as dirt...they will always be lower on average

Champs Elysees is burdened by the high expectations from his highly regarded breeding has brought upon him...Objectively speaking if he was John Doe I guess we would say he is a good horse who just won a grade 1, afterall he beat a pretty decent world class horse in Quijano. So yes perhaps he is unfairly ridiculed at times, I know I have been guilty of that in the past.
