Great speech by Hillary

One of the best at any convention in my memory...certainly there with Obama's keynote speech. She certainly did everything expected and then some...the highlight of the convention thus far.

Coach Pants 08-26-2008 11:29 PM

That speech didn't help Obama one bit.

Your party is full of f.ucktards.

hi_im_god 08-26-2008 11:40 PM

she did okay. i think she loses credibility with the lesbian wing if she comes out any stronger in his favor. she did what she had to for her 2012 or 2016 campaign. no more. no less.

i have to say the keynote put me to sleep other than a fascination with his teeth. they're huge.

i used to think mccain had a lot to overcome. but unless these guys learn to land a punch a republican could win in a year where they carry an unpopular war and bad economy on their back.

still think it's obama's to lose. but starting to have doubts.

Haven't seen it yet and I'm not a big fan of her but I hope it was good. I didn't like Michelle Obama much either until she blew me away with an amazing speech last night.

hi_im_god 08-26-2008 11:48 PM

she stepped on an applause line.

"my mother was born before a woman could vote for president...but my daughter was able to vote for her mother as president"

or something like that. i couldn't hear because she threw the end out into uproarious applause.

obama would know better.

I liked her speech also! By the way Coach....it's not MY party...the only thing I dislike more than Democrats are Republicans. Hillary was my choice from the beginning but I will vote for Obama. Of course it helped him, it was pure genius to challenge her supporters with..."was it about me or helping those in need" (Paraphrasing but that was the gist)...some of her supporters may indeed switch to McCain (the logic of that confounds me) but she gave them a good dose of logic and reality. Frankly, I find it refreshing that most speakers have avoided personal attacks on McCain....of course, it's early in the process.

hi_im_god 08-26-2008 11:56 PM

she did have the one strong line where she talked about some fill in the blank working class folks and then asked her supporter's, "did you do this for me or for them?"

that will have some traction. and both she and obama will need that.

That's the line I was referring to...I found it remarkedly effective in addressing the division we hear about!

hi_im_god 08-27-2008 12:13 AM

my issue with her is she comes across as so inauthentic. listening to her i don't think she cares any more about the working class than dick cheney. she'd say anything to get elected.

she needs to learn to give a speech the same way she talks in a one on one interview. she's pretty good one on one. people notice she sounds different.

obama sounds and looks the same in either format. even if he's a complete fraud he's consistent. and bush sounds like a ****** regardless. but you feel he's genuine.

she's a f'in robot in my mind until she learns to give a speech like she's talking to me and not speaking at me.

I think this country is f.ucked either way. It really doesn't matter who is in office.

I hope not! I have grand kids and I really want to see them live in a better world, I'm cynical at times but still believe we can make that happen...

Get rid of the lobbyists and we've got a chance.

Obama is trying and McCain is semi-trying. I wonder how much Bush will get from the lobbyists in the next 10 years. I'd think $100 million to be conservative estimate.

90% plus people who were going to vote for Hilary are going to vote for Obama anyway, so what's the big deal? I know the poll #'s say 70%, but I don't believe that for a second.

Brad, here is a good article about that obstacles that Obama faces if he is going to carry VA. I still say he doesn't win VA.

excuse me! ahem.. as a fellow "les" I will be the first to say this bitch lost all credibility with me in the 90's. If someone told me I could fucl< Scarlett Johannson if I voted for Hillary I still dont know if I could. Well scrap that yes then I'd vote for her. But that is the ONLY way.

I feel Obama is a much better person than Hillary and Obama would make a much better president than her... but I ain't voting for him either! I dont like the repub's but I dislike the dem's even more.

I really dont think she cares about anyone but herself and getting herself elected. JMO

i have a hard time believing hillary really wants obama to win. that would preclude her being a candidate in four years, and she doesn't strike me as one wanting to wait eight to try again.
i think she wants in far more than she wants the dems in the white house.
