Is he even on the grounds? I think he's going in the Pacific Classic instead.

Last work for Chumps was 8/13 going 6f on the Saratoga training track.

I thought Frankel said the turf course was too soft then and was pointing him to the Pacific Classic instead, but of course he already has two horses pointing there so who knows. Maybe he'll enter all three and then scratch two for the joy of the bettors.

I think Frankel entered to "see what's up" or some similar colloquial inquiry. Saturday, Scott, yes? Am I bringing the beer or you? Hope we don't compromise the re-enactment. :D

You coming up this weekend? I'm definitely there Saturday. Haven't been since the 4th cause of the crappy weather and might skip tomorrow even though I have it off.

Yes sir, Saturday and Sunday. Leaving Sunday evening. Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the crew. :D

Frankel speaks the truth about as often as a politician.

I wonder why Motion did not enter BTN's pacesetter Shake The Bank?

Maybe he felt that would have set it up even more for Red Rocks??

Peculiar race upon first glance, this race is definitely crying out for some legitimate speed. Presious Passion who beat a very soft field in the UN will likely inherit the lead, he is very hard to like in here even on a soft lead with this field.

That's the same thought I had, which IMO makes Red Rocks a play against.

Would you think a soft pace would help Equitable or Dancing Forever?

From what it looks to me, Dancing Forever will likely be the second choice to Red Rocks and from a win bet perspective will not offer much value exotics aside. At 1 1/2 I am willing to take Better Talk Now, 2 back a race maybe some will forget he ran a very good race but he encountered traffic trouble. If he runs back to that race he could be tough, the lack of pace is disconcerting that is why I wondered earlier why Motion chose not to enter his pacemaker this time out.

Red Rocks out...

Champs is running in the Pac Classic. On a plane today heading back west.

Coach Pants 08-15-2008 11:01 AM

What a suckfest for gamblers.

Gander 08-15-2008 11:07 AM

I'm actually glad Red Rock is scratched. Hes the kind of horse I would bet against but beat me as the lukewarm favorite. Hes a headache I didnt need.
Kills the price on Dancing Forever, but I am against him too.

hockey2315 08-15-2008 11:20 AM

Red Rocks prefers firm turf anyways. . .
