Charitable Man

No mention of this impressive 2yo who debuted on Sunday and won by 11+ lenghts up at the Spa. By Lemon Drop Kid, he went straight to the lead through a 1st quarter of 22 and never looked back. He got an 97 beyer, which seems a little high, and I doubt he beat much, but I was impressed that he showed that much speed given his sire and won as easy as he did at 6.5 furlongs. He's one to follow.

Isn't he in Dubai already?

It was a nice debut.
It was a strange start to that day with two runaway victories at 6.5 furlongs to start things off. His time was slower than the statebred allowance winner that ran in the race right before his, but that horse ran huge too, and that 3yo was actually carrying a bit less weight than the 2yo Charitable Man.
You mentioned the sire, and his dam-side pedigree also has plenty of close stamina influences so there is every reason to think he could improve when stretched out.
He might be a factor in some of the 2yo stakes later in the year.

Nice race. Nice horse.

Also Tar Heel Mom wasnt mentioned and she was brilliant again yesterday. Shes going to be a star. Someday you will see her name up in lights on the Silver Screen.

Freddy I dont think he'll be going to Dubai. The guy that owns him doesn't need the money. I bet he holds on to him, but I bet he's received a few phone calls.

I agree with you miraja2 about Hawkwood's win and Im skeptical that his 107 beyer is legit. Even if you downgrade it some Charitable Man's beyer comes back quite solid.

Didn't see Tar Heel Mom's race Gander. I'll have to check it out.
