Racing on Radio

Interesting racing radio show streaming now online until 10 a.m. at www.horseracingradio.net. I guess it's on every Saturday at 8 ET. They are broadcasting the Arlington Million, too.

Dang I wish I had some speakers

You can get some and listen later because they archive the shows.

Not to jack this thread...

But is there a local radio station in Toga that airs the races live?

There was for years.. They'd replay calls minutes after the race would end. Not sure if they still do though, and I can't recall the station...

HRRN is Mike Penna and associates. They do a great job on raceday Saturday coverage at most big weekend stakes events.

There was a radio station promo booth set up near the escalator that goes up to the clubhouse - can't recall the freq or call sign, but I remember their sign saying something about broadcasting the race calls ( don't know if they were live or right after the race) - sorry this probably doesn't help much, but at least it does exist.

I swear last weekend this guy had a radio and he was listening so some sort of feed of the races. So I called the Communications Dept. at NYRA and they said 101.3FM (who I have seen set up at the track before, but is a AC channel that I highly doubt carries races) and 109.7FM carry them, and maybe an AM station.

Of course neither (109.7 doesn't exist I don't think) has them. It got me thinking that I would think a 6-hour broadcast with races, recaps and analysis might make some money. Especially over bird-fed Fox Sports or something.
