Candy Ride

Just wondering about the rest of the country as I am kind of locked into socal but the Candy Rides have been flat out runners so far, along with the Lion Hearts, what has anyone seen in other parts of the country from these two? Both were very fragile horses though.

It has to be a good sign they are making it to the races and winning early. Wasn't Candy Ride a late bloomer?

I think he was pretty good at 3 in his native land but was brought here later in his career and unlike most trainers Ron gave him alot of time to get used to the states, 9 months or so if I remember.

Imagine how good he could have been in the hands of Ron Ellis!

I agree but I would also watch out for the Speightstown runners. According to the Bloodhorse as of 7/26 the top five 1st Crop Sires are:

1. Lion Heart
2. Chapel Royal
3. Roar of the TIger
4. Medglia D'Oro
5. Candy Ride

If even one of the Smarty babies can perform like the Notre Dame football team is going to this year then expect him in the winners circle on the first Saturday in May.

This is a Candy Ride thread, we don't need to get off topic with my sports team and political candidate.
