KNS 7/24 pics and Simon Barn at AP

Well, another beautiful day at Arlington Park - I am almost ready to believe that it is never anything but sunny and warm in the Chicago area! I was very happy to leave Boston yesterday morning, the weather has been hideous.

Our girl did a great job and was ultra professional in the paddock. TC really has taken an extra amount of time to her and during the saddling put one piece of tack on, had her walk around, then another piece of tack on etc. etc. This seemed to keep all 4 feet on the ground.

After the races were over AeWingunt and I went over to the stable to see the rest of the Simon string-as always, the area was neat as a pin and the horses were very well cared for. KNS was doing her usual frantic pacing - you'll notice a jolly ball hanging from her stall (in DT lime green nonetheless) I confirmed with TC that she doesn't actually play with this but it is used as a buffer so she does not knock herself out during her pacing. Before we left she did finally settle down.

The abrasions on her left shoulder from her July 3rd antics are healing really well. There is a picture of it buried in the pile I have attached. TC said that others on the backside who saw/knew what happened and saw her immediately afterwards were quite impressed with the healing.

Got to meet some of GBBobs horses - check out the pictures of Colonel Klink - he is enormous. On the other end of the string is Albin, a sweet, compact Johar colt. He could not have been sweeter. I have not been around many 2 year old intact colts, but I was suprised with his sweet disposition.

I included pictures of all the Simon horses and of course the favorite Hacker Craft is in the pictures.

I got to meet some new DT members and hats off to Danzig for making the ride from Arkansas with a carfull of family members!!!

Hope everyone had a safe trip home.

Here is a link to all of the pictures - I was not judicious and just uploaded everything.....

Many Others 07-25-2008 09:45 PM

wow that's like a miniature day at the Dee Tee Races and a study of DAPPLES - what a well-kept group of lucky horses - that KNS is really a handful eh??? think she secretly likes TC though lol - you can kind of gauge what her next move is gonna be by those ears - front back and even sideways!!!

gonna have to look at them again - and again - MANY THANKS!

I love Albin so much I can barely stand it. I saw him in Ocala a few months back and couldn't get over how well put together he is. :{>:

Great pics!

Bob, are you guys going to run Albin on the turf?

Sorry, I've been out of the loop if this has already been discussed. :o

I think so..was planning 8/3poly, but he's not quite there yet so this race makes sense

AeWingnut 07-26-2008 06:26 AM

I'm sure there will be more pictures to share when some others get around to it. I think 5 people had cameras. not certain Danzig at least might add some

Thanks for the pics of the Colonel, Suffolk!

He is a BEAST. Tries to eat me every time I visit him. We are definitely cautiously optimistic at this point though.
