7/25: Saratoga (Day 3-Twilight)

Interesting second day as rain continued but at least there was time to adjust for it. Got stronger as day progressed catching several winners before stringing together Late P4 score of $236.75 ($1) which was available for a meager $24 after scratches! Know several jumped aboard, so I'm glad you did well.

May take several weeks of meet to find crazier overlay than Frankel-Live Oak MTO runner LOVING VINDICATION who inexplicably went off at 4.20-1... Stunner of the day was of course Jim Corrao's career maiden Worth a Shot winning the 4th at 35-1.

Twilight card Friday.. 2:45pm first post. Turf only for the featured Lake George.

Steve, the NYRA scratch site says the 2,5,8,9 are all on turf and that the turf is rated soft, unless I am reading this wrong.

hockey2315 07-25-2008 11:53 AM

The board in the press box says we're on the main for all but the feature.

pointman 07-25-2008 12:54 PM

Just looked at NYRA website again, was updated at 1:31 and the only race on turf is the 8th.

XIIPointStables 07-25-2008 01:44 PM

Very small plays as I've been cold as ice first two days...

Race 1
w/p 7

DD
7/1,6

Pick 3
7/1,6/4

Edit: It continues. If you're looking for a a second place horse, I'm your huckleberry~!

kgar311 07-25-2008 02:14 PM

Anyone think Contessa has an outside shot here at 17-1? Last work was a bullet over a track with moisture. I am at work and havent seen the track but it cant be completely dry can it?

hockey2315 07-25-2008 02:17 PM

Did the 1 just try to bite the 2?

kgar311 07-25-2008 02:26 PM

I guess not

kgar311 07-25-2008 02:52 PM

Today is my play the longshots that dont hit the board day. Going with So Glitzy for the giant killer. Like the turf to dirt angle here and seems fit, I know it was a turf race but they did come home pretty good and she did cut into that lead. Broke her maiden on a "good" track.

hockey2315 07-25-2008 02:56 PM

Nice call.

kgar311 07-25-2008 03:04 PM

To bad im sitting at work handicapping and had no money on her. But I am in a pool with my friends where we pick one horse a day and have $2wps on it and the person with the most winnings at the end of the meet gets over $1000 for a $50 entry. I guess that puts me clearly in the lead since I had her in my pool.

hockey2315 07-25-2008 03:12 PM

Race 4

I like this 9 a little but not enough to take 6-1. It's interesting that the double to him pays the second lowest and nobody else is really close behind. I'm hoping he drifts up to 8-1 or so but doubt it happens.

kgar311 07-25-2008 03:18 PM

I love playing off the board like that, especially out in cali. about month ago second favorite and 11-1 long shot was fav ex over second coice and fav behind it. Threw the fav out and had a $10 straight triple with that horse second and third choice third. Paid $62 for a buck

kgar311 07-25-2008 03:21 PM

I suck at maidens but I like billy badgetts barn recently and I think he has a shot with the 6 here.

jms62 07-25-2008 03:22 PM

Alive to the 2-4-10 in the middle leg of a P3... I'm going for a price with a win on the 2.

XIIPointStables 07-25-2008 03:24 PM

Let's take one more shot before here

Very nice job. Both favorites were vulnerable...$38 winner in a 5 horse field from a pick 4 sequence is GOLD.

hockey2315 07-25-2008 03:28 PM

I got to the window, saw that the 9 was 4-1 and didn't bet it. Ugh.

kgar311 07-25-2008 03:41 PM
