Greg Norman

If he wins tormorrow is this the biggest win in the history of golf???

3 starts this year on tour , maybe 1 or 2 on the senior tour

this by far would be the greatest upset in golf history

The Indomitable DrugS 07-19-2008 09:19 PM

Who isn't nostalgic for an old fashion choke job on the final day by the Shark?

This might be the first round of golf I will watch since I was forced to watch that junk growing up as a kid.

magic_idol 07-19-2008 09:21 PM

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT'S Greg Norman you are talking about !!!!!

THE WORLDS BIGGEST CHOKER !!!!

He might as well go home now:wf ( allways wanted to use that white flag;) )

Look up the word choker & it reads :-
People or Teams or animals that allways screw up the finish
Eg
a GREG NORMAN
b ALL BLACKS in the World Cup
c Big BROWN
d Haradahsun ( sorry just had to put that in :D )

Still can't believe he is leading going into the final round of a major. That's 100% due to new p-ssy meow. Haven't seen him put 2 golf rounds together in a long time. Now, he puts 3 together. Just shows you how new pssy revived him.

Marty....come on. Biggest upset in the history of the game?? Fleck over Hogan in '55 comes to mind. 20 year old Ouimet beating Vardon and Ray in 1920 at the US Open is another that would rank as a more unlikely upset.

Never been a huge fan of his...but for what he has accomplished thus far, through 54 holes, is nothing short of amazing. He's 53 and this is his first major championship since 2005. But, the best player on the planet is not there, the # 2 ranked player in the world can't break an egg (much less break par) in a British Open. The hottest player in the US is playing in Wisconsin. Anything can happen in that tournament...I mean think about it, Paul Lawrie won this tournament in 1999.

choking is for youngsters...at 52 he will do just fine.

GBBob 07-20-2008 12:35 AM

he's a prick..
i hope he falls in the Irish Sea

Well, he will have to earn it, because he is gunna be up against one of the best clutch putters ever made. The crowd will cheer as loud(probably louder) for his opponent on Sunday.

kev - look at the age and # of starts , this would be like Fourstardave shwoing up at saratoga this year and winning the Swordancer

Find me in history where a guy wins this or any other major off this few starts - just doesn't happen would be a miracle

phil never plays well in a british open , we knew that coming in so that really doesn't matter and tiger's history in the wind over 4 days isn't really that good in this tourney (remember 2 of his british open wins came on wide open and benign conditions at pitch and putt st andrews)

this by far would be the greatest win in major championship history for 1 tournament

I respect your opinion...but deep down, I agree with what GBBob said. Norman is a prick. Always has been and always will be IMO. What he has done thus far is amazing....but not a chance in hell I can root for him today.

SentToStud 07-20-2008 05:59 AM

Nicklaus was 46 when he won the Masters.

Julius Boros is the oldest player to win a major. He was 48 when he won the PGA in 1968.

So, 40 years since Boros and now Norman, at 53, is trying to win the oldest tournament.

Chances are he'll lose, but I'm rooting for Norman.

herkhorse 07-20-2008 06:54 AM

I find myself rooting for the "old" guys more and more these days. Will be interesting to see how he does now that the heat is on. If he can win, the choke monkey will be off his back. It may have been a long time ago, but he HAS to be thinking about it today. One bad hole might do him in.

Do they have the same drug testing as the PGA at the R & A?

He's juiced.

Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Dara Torres
Greg Norman

Yes I must try decaf especially on Sunday.........KID BIRDIES 9!!!!

TheSpyder 07-20-2008 09:25 AM

I tell you what, this Anthony Kim is the real deal. Not sure he'll win but one hell of a year.

If the wind picks up...Chris Woods better get on his ankle weights...he probably isn't even 7 stones in weight.:)

Looks like the dude abides.
Slip sliding away on the front.

I wonder how many strokes in front a healthy Tiger would be...

Didn't he win his last Open without a driver in his bag?
