7/17: Belmont (6th-9th)

Strange but ultimately satisfying afternoon Wednesday with the Del Mar Opener suffering from some ADW platform issues but finishing well with a $150k carryover. Struggled through the late Quad at San Diego, though the $117.20 trifecta in the 7th dulled the P4 loss.

Belmont card try featured identification of a number of key horses, but the best tab of the day went astray. In the 7th, Classic Impact jumped at me as a 'Best Value' type (20-1 ML), and the Englehart (Finger Lakes sharpie) trainee went off at 46-1. Classic Impact rallied to be 2nd ($35.00, $15.40), but without an opportunity to adjust thoughts after the scratch of the heavy favorite (Frankel's Veritable), I didn't bet him straight and couldn't connect him to the 8-1 winner (Kettle Two). Uggh...

Not going to have a chance to look at the DMR P6 carryover, but did attack the Belmont P4 which is totally 'green'... Hope you did well Wednesday!

BELMONT PARK

6th: MSW, 3+, 11f-IT (P4, P3, DD)

Most Likely: #1 Voss entry 8-5 3rd
Best Value: #4 Cardinal Nation 5-1 4th
Next Best: #3 Forever My Friend 4-1 WON

7th: CLM/N2L, F&M-3+, 7f-T (P3, Super)

Most Likely: #6 STOP THE DRAMA 4-1 3rd
Best Value: #4 Bluegrass Girl 5-1 5th
Next Best: #3 Panthera Tiger 7-2 WON

8th: ALW/N1X, F&M-3+, 8.5f-IT (DD)

This is a VERY good ALW. Clement's Queens Full looks like the right one to me, but nearly all capable here with a mare like Brantley scary on best..

Most Likely: #5 Queens Full 5-2 4th
Next Best: #7 Value Stream 2-1 WON
Best Value: #2 Reata's Vixen 12-1 5th
Exotics Add: #3 Fee Fi Fo Fum 9-2 6th

9th: CLM/N3L, 3+, 1m-T (NO Super)

ML fave Fairway Drive looks no better to me than several others...

Most Likely: #3 Flash of Victory 5-1 5th
Best Value: #8 SCR
Next Best: #4 Bright Illusion 6-1 3rd
Super Add: #1 Formal King 7-2 WON

<$75 P4 Play:

6 1-3-4-5-6
7: 6
8: 1-2-3-5-7
9: 1-3-4

5x1x5x3 = $75

Good luck!
Steve

I have a question generated by today's card which points out why racing needs something like the Elias Sports Bureau...

When was the last time Richard Stoklosa won 2 races in one day at Belmont?

If someone has the money to start a horse racing Elias Sports Bureau, I will gladly be the first employee.....

Thx Matto, but I phucked it up. Hell.. the 3x3x3x4 would have cost $108 and the thing paid like $230...

I wasted the $75 with the single. But, the late scratch really hurt her chances by eliminating some more pace, and then Coa did little to give her a shot.

I capped OK, but played the thing poorly.
