Irish Oaks
massive shock - Aidan O'Brien wins, gets his 7th successive Irish Classic with Moonstone and has the 2nd Ice Queen as well who nearly nicked it going down by just a short head. Andre Fabre's Gagnoa was 3rd.. Very interesting at the end having the winner all decked out in the Darley blanket..
If Godolphin get 1/4 of the G1 wins Coolmore do, they'll be delighted.. |
The coolmore bosses are now reaping the rewards for entering this industry with an actual business plan. Very well done to them, they know how to run a successful business, they know which horses to buy (apart from The Green Monkey :D )and most of all, they have a top training organisation that knows how to train and rest horses.
Godolphin came into this game with a short term plan with no respect for what the future could hold, and now it is really showing and much of their frustration has resulted in 'panic buying'. I thought Ice Queen had won yesterday, I'm thrilled with Moonstone, though. She is the filly I have been following since she finished second on her debut. She looks as though she still has plenty to learn and should continue to improve. |
