Would love to see this guy pull an upset... but I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

anyone capping these better expect yielding turf AT BEST. could be soft to even off if these storms keep up.

I'll probably end up talking myself into Blue Exit in the American Derby. Rouget almost won the American Oaks last weekend with a lightly raced horse (although she had been running against much better) at a nice price. This horse is stepping from listed stakes but hasn't finished out of the tri in his career. Should also appreciate the stretch-out. . . Pedigree may be useless at this point but this one has some noteworthy horses on his dam's side. His dam is a half to Dynaformer as well as the mare that produced Oflee Wild. Tizdejavu is clearly the one to beat but I think he may get some pace pressure from the other Euro - who's been on the lead in 7F races in Ireland. If Blue Exit can stalk those and they weaken he doesn't have to be much to win.

still raining this morning... They may only run 1 or 2 on the sod... Modesty most likely to go to poly....The other two would almost be match races with the scratches if they go off....

More weather updates...Clearing here now and rain gone. Hot and sunny later so turf should get a chance to recover a bit

Hitting multi-race bets with these will be tough with the 2yos running in the 7th. There are two in there that I really like though.

Pitts's #4 (Witch Princess) has a pedigree that STRONGLY indicates success as a 2yo. She has also been training nicely at CD for this debut, and Pitts is solid on synthetic.

Reavis's #5 (High on Top) is by Bashford Manor winner Dance Master and out of a Lear Fan mare also bred for early success. Reavis is very tough in these sorts of races and almost always has them ready to go first time out. I also love the work pattern over this surface

Ballymore Lady looks solid in the Modesty, if it stays on grass

Wrote about this race - get the feeling that 9/2 will be a gift on that one....

make it soft/soupy turf at best. been pouring all night and still raining.
Expecting any non-stakes to be put on the wet poly and wouldn't surprise me if some of the stakes are off too (especially if it keeps raining).

I like Witch Princess in the 7th too.

having seen Great War Eagle, I have severe doubts he can stay 1 and 3/16ths.. he looks a 6-7f horse to me, a miler at most..

BLue Exit would be the one I'd be on..

From the Arlington Park Website:

On Saturday, races 6, 9 and 10 remain on the Turf, which is rated as "Soft."
On Saturday, races 2, 4 and 8 have been taken off the Turf.
