Don't have access to watch right now, used to be able to listen. Just tried & got some BS message about ...due to regulatory blah blah blah...what's up with that??

The real problem is NYRA has not submitted the necessary paperwork for streaming audio a/o video to the "regulatory" agency.

That's a distortion of the truth.

That's the word that came out of the NYRA admin. offices the middle of last week. Check it out. I'll give you a name if you like. Not on here though.

BTW: Here's what Nick Kling stated on his Capital OTB Sunday AM show yesterday:

He said that he personally called the NYS Racing and Wagering board and did not get a telephone response. He did get an email from an official there explaining this: NYRA changed their video company at the beginning of the spring meet. Each time a change in this is made, regulatory forms have to be completed in Albany to allow a new company to join with NYRA.They being NYRA had a certain period of time to get the proper regulatory papers to Albany authorizing this new feed and NYRA did not get the forms in. NYSRB said that the ball is in NYRA's hands to get it resolved and that they were working on getting this to the state.

Could it be that since NYRA is still in bankruptcy proceedings that state oversight might still be necessary for NYRA to sign any new contracts that effect racing?

I imagine they do need to file some paperwork but the entire story is probably a little more complicated....that's all.

No audio...4mtp, wish I could hear one of the most exciting races of the year.

the_fat_man 07-12-2008 04:31 PM

NO Audio and no replays on racereplays. Maybe we continue this THROUGH the SAR meet. Why RUSH? Ideally, we can get this mess straightened out just in time for the HIGHLIGHT of the NYRA season: the inner track meet.

MTH is streaming LIVE
ALL CALI tracks are streaming LIVE
DED (I believe) is streaming LIVE

Edit to add Fort Erie to the list of LIVE streams.

As my good friend said on Trackfacts this morning; "they dropped the ball....again!"

hockey2315 07-13-2008 02:21 PM

What a joke

Tried to go on www.racereplays.com/nyra

"For regulatory purposes, NYRA is not permitted at this time to provide a link to our race replays.
NYRA understands and regrets this inconvenience for our fans who have come to rely upon these services.
Please be assured NYRA is doing everything within its power to work with the New York State Racing and Wagering Board to restore this link to our web site as soon as possible."

dellinger63 07-13-2008 02:27 PM

Can you say bettor's strike?

Oh yea, that's right, it will never happen.

hockey2315 07-13-2008 02:28 PM

It's not NYRA - it's the state.

dellinger63 07-13-2008 02:33 PM

If the bettors could agree and boycott ANY track 'we' would change racing (takeouts, taxes, admission, Magna v. the world) in a couple days. Only problem is we'll never agree to boycott.

Those are dangerous ideas.
