Bone scanning 5 claimers for 5,000 bucks in testing sounds like a good idea

That's a blog entry by Crawford.. And it's a growing problem...

What is 'news' or 'reportage' and what is simply an 'opinion' masquerading as 'news'?

Yeah, a less expensive diagnostic test would be to run it and see if it breaks down or not...

Wasn't he quoting expert testimony from well-respected veterinarians? Assuming the quotes were based on scientific data and clinical experience, how is that labeled as mere opinion?

Nothing wrong with his comments at all per se, but I'm having trouble lately telling the difference between what is 'news' and what is 'commentary'...

Come on man. You can't just name a thread "article."

You have to tell us what the thread is about.
My suggestion would be a catchy title like:

"Will Big Brown be able to repeat as Kentucky Derby champ?"
or,
"Another Giant's Causeway offspring hits the board in some race!"

Save some money - do a digital thermography check-up instead.....

Where are you getting that quote for bone scans? Is that 5 @1,000 each or did you mean 5000 cliamers for 5 grand?

That is the current status of this sport. Time will tell if improvements are actually made. It seems the researchers are discovering more problems and their solutions. Will the solutions be implemented, that is the question.

Why don't we just ask the horses if they feel like running?

My concern is telling the difference, myself,.. my concern is that the general public doesn't seem to differentiate between the two.
