6/18: Hollywood (C/O: 3rd-8th)

Foster Day card was entertaining, but a chalk-lovers dream with $48 P6 the prize for all your work. Hollywood mid-week card may be mundane by comparison, but $158,000 carry pool to begin makes it potentially a bonanza. Several excellent betting races are here even if you aren't a sextet player though, and there is a $150,000 guarantee P4 pool on the late Quad as well. Several ways to approach this skien with perhaps 3 different singles available, but I'm taking a slightly contrarian approach. Hope you play and hope you do well! Races 3-4-5 live on 'At the Races' tonight!

HOLLYWOOD PARK

PRE-SCRATCHES/CHANGES...

3rd: MDN CLM, 2yo-F, 5f (P6, P3, DD, Super)

Can understand favored #6 Golden Rocketship as a single option to many, but with 2yo's at this level, I'd like a little more security..

Most Likely: #6 Golden Rocketship 8-5 2nd
Best Value: #3 SCR
Next Best: #2 Crystal Got Even 10-1 7th
Exotics Add: #10 Marked Treasure 5-2 WON

4th: CLM, 4+, 8.5f (P3, DD, Super)

Most Likely: #1 SCR
Next Best: #10 Norway House 3-1 4th
Best Value: #6 War Scandal 12-1 WON
Exotics Add: #9 El Falcon 4-1 6th

5th: S/ALW, F&M-3+, 8.5f (P4, P3, DD, Super)

Mama Luc is another single option, but Arty Sherman can be a six-killer with 2nd choice Mud, Sweat n' Tears..

Most Likely: #6 Mama Luc 5-2 4th
Next Best: #5 Mud, Sweat n' Tears 3-1 WON
Best Value: #2 Sheza Maneater 5-1 3rd
Exotics Add: #1 E Bee Girl 6-1 5th

6th: MSW, 3+, 6f (P3, DD, Super)

With the nightcap, a very tough spot in the series, and a place where ratrher than taking 4, 5 or 6 and STILL feeling under-representated, I will stand with Brian Koriner's #3 Kearns Prints.

Most Likely: #3 Kearns Prints 7-2 6th
Best Value: #11 More Humor 5-1 3rd
Next Best: #8 Evaluate 6-1 4th
Exotics Add: #9 National Holiday 5-1 WON

7th: CLM, F&M-4+, 6f-T (DD)

The third possible single of the day, but again, I want a little more of a safety net and will include Kathy Walsh's 5yo mare Whatsitgonnatake.

Most Likely: #6 No Ka Oi 8-5 2nd
Next Best: #2 Whatsitgonnatake 5-2 WON
Exotics Add: #7 Dona Amerlia 4-1 3rd

8th: MDN CLM, 3+, 6f (Super High 5)

Series ends with a slightly classier version of the opener with 3+ colts/geldings instead of 2yo fillies. Field may be the one Onetimeatbandcamp has been looking for, but will add Eddie Truman's price pony and the Sadler number that Bejarano lands on as well..

Most Likely: #5 Onetimeatbandcamp 5-1 2nd
Best Value: #6 Nationwide Family 20-1 9th
Next Best: #2 Kaffeinator 6-1 3rd
Exotics Add: #3 Savvy and Smooth 6-1 WON
High 5 Play: #4 Redorwhite 12-1 12th

<$150 P6 Play:

3: 2-6-10 (Original play featured SCR'D #3)
4: (1/SCR)-10 (No substitute for SCR'D #1)
5: 5-6
6: 3
7: 2-6
8: 2-5-6

3x1x2x1x2x3 = 36 x $2 = $72

<$75 P4 Play:

5: 1-2-5-6
6: 3-8-11
7: 2-6
8: 2-5-6

4x3x2x3 = $72

Good luck!
Steve

JON WHITE'S (HRTV) P6 PLAY:

As presented on "At the Races"...

3: 6-10
4: 9-10
5: 6
6: 3-4-6-9-10
7: 6
8: 2-5-7-9

2x2x1x5x1x4 = 80 x $2 = $160

Good luck from Jon!

This was a fun, tricky set... A real 'might-have-been' kind of series...
