The anything but Big Brown, Andys, polls, government, drugs thread

Come on people. There has to be more to racing than that.

I'll start...

Less than 8 weeks until Saratoga....ahhhhhh. I fell better already. I missed last year, but really hope to make it this year. Nothing better. Morning workouts, followed by show at Siros with Harvey and Andy...damn, forgot that name is not allowed. Anyway, followed by a day of great racing featuring Carolina BBQ and Steve doing his ATR show and then off to a night of good food and fun.

And even if I'm not there listening to the Siro's show and catching the action is just great!

Churchill and the Kentucky horsemen suck balls.

Let's talk about Casino Drive, for God's sake.

5-2?

If Dutrow is spending 5K a month on mints - what are they laced with?

MaTH716 05-27-2008 05:49 PM

I was at Monmouth with my 5 year old son yesterday and their was an IEAH horse heading to the track. My son looks at me and says "look daddy that horse has the same silks as Big Brown". Upon hearing the story, let's just say that his mother was less than thrilled. On the other hand I thought it was pretty cool.

Sorry Spyder that I mentioned Big Brown, I will put myself in the penalty box for 2 minutes.

Horse Racing is dying.

My 2 year old daughter is learning her numbers by looking at horsey pictures, I'm so proud :)

OK, we're starting to roll here. No Kent D or his wife, Andy S can post without mentining himself and anything about anthing else is legal , inclusing legal drugs. Steve B insights is OK. Interesting Morte perspectives is AOK as he's having a hard time in the E wing.

Let her roll...............

I think Morty's been in the E wing long enough. Time to upgrade him to the D wing.

I think your son spotting silks is simply a result of the time that you have spent tutoring him at his memory skills. It's not all fathers that spend so much time working on useful life skills. Most dad's take their kids to the park where it does nothing to help them in the future. You my friend, are teaching life skills...

Thank You, maybe I could have you explain that to my wife. He is in pre-school and every week they do words for every letter of the alapabet. For the letter S, you got it, he brought in a mini Secretariat. I picked him up from school that day and looked at the board where all the words were and as sure as sh!t Secretariat was up there. I am expecting social services to knock on my door any day now. Could you imagine if they found out that he wanted me to make blinkers for his rocking horse!

Danzig 05-28-2008 06:56 AM

did he explain betting tri's for the letter T???

Bigsmc 05-28-2008 08:09 AM

I was out of town over the weekend and didn't see The Preakness until I got home. I settled in to watch the replay and as they were loading into the gate, my 4yr old walks into the room and says, "That's Big Brown, he's number 7". After what she said registered with me, I asked my wife if my daughter watched the race already. She said my daughter sat on the couch and watched for about an hour on Preakness day...by herself.

Nothing bad can come from it MaTH. Your son and my daughters will grow up more well rounded than their peers. No matter what your wife thinks, he is learning, using his mind and imagination and that is all you can ask at that age.

Sorry, I used the BB words against the wishes of the thread title. I will suspend myself from posting.
