Del Mar/Race 7

Point Ashley broke her maiden today at second asking. I know she finished 3rd in her debut. I was unable to see the race today, can anyone tell me how she looked?

Point Ashley

She showed speed from the break was outside another horse on the inside leading by about a 1/2 length going into the turn started to open up a bit around the turn the inside horse stayed on as they hit the head of the stretch and with about 1/8 to 3/16 mile left Victor opened up on her and she won going away as much as she wanted to ... maybe 8 lengths???

Looked great and with that pedigree... should be able to move on

Thank you very much. I think she is only gonna get better, especially going 2 turns.

Victor was miked for the race by TVG. After the race Baffert was heard saying(to Victor) what a quick filly she was. Victor commented about how much she learned from her first race. Wasn't sure what kind of horse she was entering the stretch until after Victer asked her for more. She just took off. Very impressive.

Forgot you can still see free Cali races replayed on on calracing.com.

21:64 first 1/4 looked pretty effortless. Can someone look at the replay and tell me if she ever switched leads? Please? I can tell the majority of the time, but its hard for me to see in that replay. It looks to me like she does NOT switch, but I would love to see what others think.

Beautiful filly though.

the replay is dark so it's hard to be sure. what I think saw is no lead change.
