Big Brown's last race will be....

With a stallion deal almost finalized, it's time for us to begin thinking about the end of Big Brown's racing career.

Will his final race be:

A) The Preakness
B) The Belmont Stakes
C) The Kentucky Derby

MaTH716 05-07-2008 02:30 PM

The Belmont

Cannon Shell 05-07-2008 02:30 PM

Japan Cup Dirt

justindew 05-07-2008 02:36 PM

Here's is what I would like to see:

-Win the Preakness
-Win the Belmont
-Win the Jim Dandy
-Win the Travers
-Win the JCGC
-Win the Breeders' Cup Turf
-Win the Malibu
-Win the Dubai World Cup
-Lose to Zanjero in the Grade I Stephen Foster

Then retirement.

The Breeders Cup (Turf) Mile...

Unlikely of course, but it would be fun to see this horse run back on the turf.

The Preakness

Over/under on ten lifetime starts for Big Brown?

hockey2315 05-07-2008 02:46 PM

O/U Would probably have to be 6

slotdirt 05-07-2008 02:49 PM

I'd go under the number in that case.

O/U 7.5. If healthy, he'll run the triple crown, Haskel, Travers, once against olders, then first on synthetic in the Classic where he finishes a miserable 8th at 3-5 odds.

Possible, but with the way he runs on turf, I don't think synthetic would slow him down too much.

I agree. After Steve Haskin read the IEAH statment from Dutrow on ATR, I might be willing to wager the Kentucky Derby at the right price. I'll go with the Preakness.

It's frustrating how we've been conditioned to think like this, when is a horse's last time start in May of his 3-year-old year.

Linny 05-07-2008 05:56 PM

If he wins the Preakness, his last race is the Belmont. If he loses the Preakness, that's it.

If he loses the Preakness, I'm sure some mystery ailment will show up and that will be it. Otherwise it's the Belmont.

Riot 05-07-2008 06:44 PM

The last race was the Kentucky Derby

Danzig 05-07-2008 07:02 PM

why won't he run again? you really think he won't go to maryland?

Hickory Hill Hoff 05-07-2008 07:05 PM

The Preakness....foot problems won't let him get to the "test of champions"

hockey2315 05-07-2008 07:05 PM

How much can he really be worth right now with his ped and very few accomplishments?

Riot 05-07-2008 07:31 PM

Apparently 50 million dollars
