Being that the Preakness will be a toal bore.

Samba Rooster will probably crush those horses but won't be much of a price. . .

I think it's a great race....Samba Rooster, My Pal Charlie, Golden Spikes are all proven stakes contenders. Limestone Edge who won impressively at Keeneland beating Tizdejavu, who just won a stake at Churchill on Friday. It's the second tier of 3yo's who didn't have the earnings in time for the BB clinic. This group may have better competitors than the 18 who ran behind the courageous filly.

Actually, I'd tend to agree with him. I'll be at the Preakness to drink beer and enjoy the scene, but from a wagering perspective on the actual race... not much to get excited about.

Samba Rooster should go in the Preakness.

No he wasn't....How much is it to supplement a horse into the the Preakness? Think they would lower the fee in order to attract better horses?

It costs too much to do it and it is that way cause otherwise no one would nominate in the first place.

hockey2315 05-05-2008 03:25 PM

I think it's like $600K or something. . .

I think it is $200K. I think, but am not sure, that money gets added to purse so you'd be running for $720K.

First of all - that's why I said "I think it's $600K or something."

Was just going by what someone told me. . .

Anyways. . . even with my painfully low IQ I managed to look it up:

"If any additional horses not already nominated want to enter, they will have to be supplemented. Cost for this is $150,000 for the Kentucky Derby and $100,000 for the Preakness and Belmont."
