whats this over under number they talk about every race?

add up the horses assigned silk numbers for the top three places.. the bet is over or under that total.. pretty stupid I think.

you can bet over or under the total for the post positions that come in the money, for example 1-3-5 would be 9

A pathetic attempt at a new wager. They regularly handle $500 per race on it. At least the over/under players arent tying up the lines.
