Hollywood Park 4/27

I dont play much on these gimmick race cards like today at Hollywood Park.

Look at race 5 which is for maiden 3 yo and up. There are only 2 older horses in the race and they would seem to have an advantage against the younger horses in here. Im going to use the 11 with the 13. seems like an unfair advantage this time of the year.

todays state bred card always creates some wild prices. I am going to take a swing at the early pk4, if it hits for a nice price I will roll over as the late pk4 looks very difficult. The early could be chalky, but gonna try to find some bombs...probably reaching but what the heck.

1)1,2,5
2)2,4,5
3)2,7
4)1,4,6
$54

backup ticket
1)2,5
2)5
3)2,4,7
4)1,2,4

Here is where I am on the late pk4, have to widdle it down but there are some bombs I want to use.

7)1,4,7
8)1,5,6,11
9)1,5,10,13
10)1,5,6,9

I think the finsh line is about a head to far at Hollywood Park. Had 10bucks on #2 in the 6th at 22/1 and came up short.

Taking a shot with pmac at late 4:

7- 1,4
8- 1,3,5,11
9- 6,9,11,12,13
10- 5,13

Good luck guys!

HP late pick 4 looks juicy.

R7 Think Johnny Eves has them over a barrel. Ideal distance for him and will be the lone speed with the scratches. Singling here...

R8 Unlike the last race there's a ton of speed in here... and think it sets up well for a bombing closer. Using the entry and the likely favorite (5) defensively and swinging for the fences with the 2,6,7,8,11,13.

R9 Check who the 8 ran credibly behind in last... think that could be your most likely winner. Very difficult race and also using the 6,7,10,11.

R10 Think this one is pretty clearly cut talentwise, tough call on the pace scenario but I'm using the 2,9,10.

Ted West and Jeffrey Sangara the same team that brought you Blues the Standard. I missed that one.

Him slipping up the rail in the '03 BC Sprint to complete a monster exacta and tri was one of the highlights of my betting career.

This, however, was not. Johnny Eves has fooled me one too many times.

That horse no business beating horses of that class....questionable at best.

I think the wheels continue to come off with the last 3 races.

pk3
8)1,5,6,11
9)1,4,5,7,10 yes using 2 30-1 shots
10)1,5,6
$60

Dr Zaentz is not a bad play at 25-1 - race should set up for a closer

Mine too. I was on the rail to see it happen that day. Santa Anita is the best place to handle a large crowd like the Breeders Cup.

I'm on the #5 in this race.

philcski 04-27-2008 06:27 PM

Wow. Good thing I didn't get through the first leg because I would have blown my top with a 35-1 and a 50-1 selection running 2nd/3rd with trouble behind the very obvious 5/2 choice.

he ran big @38-1 and should of had 2nd if the 10 hadnt of crushed him....

Rootdog1 04-27-2008 06:31 PM

The 9th is the most wide open race of the day....no one should be under 4-1

I'm all over #10 overland and #5 berts law

2Hot4TV 04-27-2008 06:35 PM

I'm going to take Storm Dragon. My second choice was Warrens Attack Cat, but I can't bet anything named Warren. Rules are Rules.

i hope you're right about the 10, I have a live pick three to five of these, and that one pays the most. $2,387.

didn't use the 5

Rootdog1 04-27-2008 06:50 PM

good luck jim...nice pk3 you have going

Rootdog1 04-27-2008 06:52 PM

at 9f you are going to see some of these just dying in the lane...I dont see any of the speed horses winning this

Rosso Corso is bred to run long...so logical. So is the #1, still a maiden....has a shot I think
