Tampa Sunday 04-27-08

Pick 4

Race 7:

9 - The Works - Scace switches to her go to guy. Very little to beat in here.
8 - Saudade - Will enjoy the extra half furlong. Second time sprinting on dirt.
12 - Invisible Decision - Class include. Massive drop is a huge red flag, but I'm not going to let her beat me. Looks like an end of the meet fire sale.

Race 8:

4 - Lady's Town - Second off. Faded late in her comebacker. Should be tighter today.
8 - Happiness Is - Off since the beginning of March, but fitness is proven by 6 good works since.
5 - Coffee Can - Grass effort was credible. Centeno returns.
10 - Love Lola - Stretches out after just missing in her first turf try.

Race 9:

7 - Truthsayer - Should roll here.
5 - Daunting Pleasure - Mystery horse has been off since June. Solid connections so we'll include at a big price.
3 - El Immigrante - Just missed at 50-1 last out. Can he repeat that effort?

Race 10:

2 - Bushtune - Improving sort can make the step up.
4 - Fergie's Folly - Surprised in last, grass lover.
10 - A Slic Chic - Another that wakes up on the blades.
1 - Hurricane Nikki - Hanger needs an extra push. May get it today from the red hot Willie Martinez.

Small Ticket:

8,9,12/4,5,8/3,5,7/2,4 = $54

Big Ticket:

8,9,12/4,5,8,10/3,5,7/1,2,4,10 = $144

My last day at Tampa Bay Downs until next December....

Spot play:

Race 5

6 - Anastasia Lady (15-1 M/L) - Two speed and fade races with the cold HVG. Very little to beat in this race. Bullet work, drop back to the proper level and switch to Ronnie Allen Jr. does the trick.

Are there Hungarian Gent qualities here, Bigs? I will have to take a shot with this one!

I thought so, but scratches and gamblers brought the 15-1 M/L down to 5-2. Guess I wasn't the only one liking...

A very even run for 4th and we have nothing to show for this one.
