he could well be knowing what some french races can be like. Aidan's horses dont seem to be as sharp as can be so you'd have to fancy Zambezi Sun, but Saddex is very interesting to me, he could be one to watch this year.

I'm not sure if she has a realistic chance but Mrs Lindsay is interesting from a North American standpoint as she did win the EP Taylor Gr.1 last year. So for curiosity sake I hope she asserts herself well Sunday.

I'd love to see him win. He's one of those horses I love. Half bro to the beloved Horatio, and he's a real character.

from racingpost..

DUKE OF MARMALADE held off a storming late charge from Saddex to clinch a thrilling Prix Ganay at Longchamp.

Aidan O'Brien's four-year-old benefited from a good pace set by Spirit One to land Europe's first Group 1 of the year.

The son of Danehill responded well to the efforts of Johnny Murtagh to take over from the fading pace-maker just as the field turned into the false straight.

Duke of Marmalade is set to follow the same route as Dylan Thomas with O'Brien pencilling in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on May 25 for his charge.

He said: "He was operated on at the beginning of the year and he has been working so much better since then and has been very pleasing in all his work.

"He may run in the Tattersalls Gold Cup now and obviously he is veryversatile as he can go between a mile and a mile and three furlongs."

Coral responded to Duke Of Marmalade's success by cutting him to 8-1 from 16-1 for the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot while he is now 10-1 from 25-1 for the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Sageburg finished strongly to take third, while the favourite Zambezi Sun never fired in the 1m 2f contest.
