Small but nice field. Love Aragorn here even though I have a sentimental favorite (Hendrix, for personal reasons).

Who do you all like here? Is anyone going this weekend?

my miss storm cat 07-23-2006 05:27 PM

Fine... I'll talk to myself.:D

I can't wait for this one. Quasimodo is improving, I think Silent Name may be a bit overated but watch... now that I said that, he'll win.

Hope not...

PSH 07-23-2006 05:30 PM

Silent Name

Storm Cat:

Aragorn certainly looked good in the last, but i like Silent Name this time around. Consistently runs his race and Aragorn will certainly win if he repeats the last but look for him to regress off a top and Silent name to once again run his thorograph sheet 2 and win this one.

Yeah Aragorn has looked great the past few times.

Sometimes it's hard for me to be objective... too many sentimental favorites here. Fast and Furious? Okay, not holding my breath, but Hendrix..... I've followed him since the '04 Hollywood Derby. Love him to death. I hope he does well.....

Good luck to you!

PSH 07-23-2006 05:41 PM

Good Luck to you also

Should be a great race.
Eddie Read has always been one of my favorite turf races of the year...
Wish i was at Del Mar.
Will try to get there in August if i can...

Luckily i hit the early double with a key on the Giant Causeway horse in the MSW 2nd race. Had it pretty good which makes my day regardless of what happens in the feature:)

Good for you!

Going in August too. If Hendrix runs that day, I'll be the one gazing dreamily... :D

Very hard race. I'd like Hendrix a lot more if he werent stuck outside. Fourty Niners Son picks up Velazquez but he has had two trips that were ground saving good trips in his last two and couldnt get it done. That only leaves Silent name and Aragorn. Of the two I like Silent Name better. Bounced a little last time out but has a verstaile way about him, he can come off the pace or stalk. Been on a perfect work schedule for a long time and should be good here.
Key Silent name 1st and 2nd in tris with hendrix, aragorn, and fourty niner's son.
Good luck.

Aragorn looked very, very special today

Those personal reasons include massive amounts of a liquid that makes you see blue machines?

very nice run by aragorn to nail the win in track record time. yet another clue to why giants causeways fee is what it is.

anyone catch the point given filly in the msw in the previous race? she looked good--point ashley, trained by baffert.

Aragorn wow. Very impressive. The Baffert filly was impressive too. Heard Victor and BB talking about her after the race on TVG. Victor was miked up.

i thought the outside post might hurt her a bit, but she broke very well, he did a great job with her. made it look easy. she's one to keep an eye on.

Thats the first thing I noticed was the move at the turn, just looked totally effortless with a beautiful stride. Very nice win today.

Danzig 07-24-2006 05:31 AM

corey had a heck of a weekend, first dancing edie and then aragorn.

i can't get over how effortless he made it seem. that race was a real pleasure to watch. but i swear i heard victor curse when he dropped his stick! might have cost him the place.

Aragorn was quite impressive and definitely has some talent as his last 4 races have been very good. Keep this in mind for the Breeders Cup though-Drysdale has mentioned repeatedly that he's not certain Aragorn is as good of horse on a turf course with some give in it (likely the case w/ the Breeders Cup at Churchill in November) I realize he ran a huge race in the Kilroe mile on a "good" turf at Santa Anita back in March, but there is a big difference between good turf on the West Coast, where the turf is real hard- almost like concrete at times, and good turf on the East Coast. Something to think about...
