Cliff Guilliams

Anyone met this character?

Not with us anymore but sounded
like an interesting man.

The Cliff's Edge. Sounds like some
people knew he was gonna be ready
early. Only 52.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
RIP.

John Asher mentioned something about him before the movie tonight and there was a moment of silence. Sucks to go so friggin young. I can't believe he was on here with us.

Just saw the news in the C-J.. A real shock. Met him at Churchill last few years. Sterling reputation as a chart caller... Very sad.

I've met Cliff probably ten times between going to Keeneland, churchill and Ellis. Cliff was from Evansville and LOVED everything about Ellis Park. If you search online, you can read many of his writings about Ellis. Sad news.

Listened to Jennie Rees' segment on ATR today and it made me think of this...

Quote:

Ellis Park, despite its faults and shortcomings, is one of racing's last remaining treasures. It's one of the country's most comfortable tracks. It's like walking in the neighborhood tavern where everyone knows your name. Like putting on a pair of old jeans or loafers.
This man really loved Ellis Park. It takes a special racing fan to love what that place has become and on top of that to overlook its flaws.

That quote makes me think he was the type of guy to order the steak dinner at The Exotic She Lounge and enjoy a few lap dances from the assorted beached whale...err women that work there and actually equate the experience to that of Scores.

R.I.P, Cliff. May you wear those rose-colored glasses throughout eternity.
