4/11: AQU (P6 C/O); KEE (Maker's, P4)

In what became a running gag when co-hosting ATR with Graci, Thursday was "scalded dog comeback day" ringing up big scores with the Keeneland selections after a dreadful afternoon Wednesday. Overlays Moonshine Hall (7th-$15) and Mama I'm Home (9th-$42) keyed the $2,500 P4 and $900 P3 (7th-9th) in the best single play I've had at Lexington since the move to Polytrack. $60 quad ticket returned better than 40-1 combining the obvious ($5 Charming in 6th; $8 Ariege in the Beaumont) with the potential prices. Curiously, the ticket was a hit with all four 2nd place horses as well as the winners. (Something I don't ever recall having done...)

Received a number of Emails, so I know several were along for the ride! Hope you did well... P6 at AQU and terrific Maker's Mark Mile at KEE, though rain a threat to both cards...

That Aqueduct 6th is something else. Field of 12, 1 first time starter. Out of the remaining 11, 6 put up a zero Beyer last out. Woah...

Think I'm gonna single He's a Pioneer and try to string a pk4 together.

Good Luck!

Pat,

Had similar thought. "He's" is at least consistant... Good luck...

anyone have any input on the early pick 4, i like the sequence of races.... i looked at the pp's thinking about going deep in everything and then keying cc in the 5th, maybe a 4-4-4-1 ticket. i hate going deep just to go deep though, then you hit a ticket, that does not even get you your money back. if cc wins, and the pletcher horse wins the 3rd, can this thing pay anything ?

Yeah, I just noticed that also, plus he is 0-2=x and should return to his top today, making him major contender

Also using Out of Control now, his 2nd lifetime race was over a 'heavy' ground, which I have heard compared to yielding. It looked like he liked it. I think I might Thousand Words also but haven't decided, going three deep in last leg of P3

Scav 04-11-2008 12:05 PM

Alright, alright, I'll post a ticket

Keeneland

I'll say this Joe.. Parading's best race did come over a yielding KEE course, so he's got that going for him. The Phipps' don't run their horses in Gr. I's to look bad, so making a stakes debut in this spot is also an endorsement. He's never run fast enough to beat most of these, but Shug must have seen something in him in Florida that got him thinking about this race. Not the craziest notion you've ever had...

Did anyone see the way Hill rode the Hushion winner in the AQU 4th just now? He rode him like he was Round Table at 3-5... OMG.

Looks like we are the only people interested Coach, 34/1 right now on the board. should have at least half that, if not less. she runs that yielding number and she is right there at the end
