Ginger Punch vs. Hystericalady vs. Zenyatta on Saturday
 

I was reading the Oaklawn website barn notes today and it looks like this Saturday's Apple Blossom is shaping up with Ginger Punch, Hystericalady, and Zenyatta in the field.

I am looking forward to this nice Grade 1 matchup this early in the year.

beats the upcoming fantasy...only three horses scheduled to start thus far.

I agree the Apple Blossom should be a great race. I'm afraid the Oaklawn Handicap might not have much, but I'd love to see Brass Hat.

I don't think it matters how many show up for the Fantasy, they'll just be chasing Eight Belles.

heatseeker and circular quay are heading for the oaklawn handicap. buzzards bay was on the list as well. it was in yesterdays paper, i can't remember all of them, but seemed a better renewal then some past races. and the ark derby will have a full field of 14.

Heatseeker, that is pretty funny. Zero chance.

Hollendorfer was interviewed at Bay Meadows yesterday by the board's own Vic Stauffer and his opinion on Heatseeker was kind of a "why can't he run on dirt."

Ha, we'll see.

an update on some oaklawn happenings.

french kiss, who ran in the infamous 'oops, the gate is in the way' race that would have most likely been won by chucks Richwood Silver, is entered in the fantasy. this brings the field to four, with pure clan, eight belles and alina.

silver lord, who took an abrupt left turn after the gate opened last month at the fair grounds, is entered for the oaklawn handicap. however, he will scratch if he draws the rail. seems he wishes to be quite the liberal at the gate.


high heels (won last years fantasy) was bred to bernardini on monday.


oaklawns '09 season will run jan 16-april 11 (54 live dates).

Any word on Terry Wallaces dinner plans?

must have missed that in the newspaper.

He seems like the kind of guy who would own a restaurant in Hot Springs
