We asked the same question, at the same time, but it was a "protected" hawk.

perhaps they could have him sit in a chair and let golfers hit balls at him, see how much HE likes it. not much i'd think. i saw that story the other day and thought 'what a jackass'.

GPK 03-09-2008 01:36 PM

this is the first I have heard of this story...

I accidentally killed a squirrel on the golf course once...wasnt trying to hit him at all.

Canadian Geese are a different story. Hate them...all they do is sh*t and reproduce:D

Tripp Isenhour....he's making an instructional video?!?!?

Thats a hoot....

skippy3481 03-09-2008 05:18 PM

Now guys, I'm about to show you how to launch a tee shot into the buncker and double bogey a hole,,, watch close now.

herkhorse 03-09-2008 07:40 PM

It's no different than the soldier throwing a puppy off a cliff-totally heinous! It was no accident. He was trying to hit the hawk, what a loser.

IMO...VERY different.

I guess your right, but I read one report where witneses heard him say "I'll take care of this", and he kept hitting low shots from 75 yds. until he hit the hawk. That's pretty deliberate.

Im not condoning what he did by anymeans....clearly a stupid ass decision. But his chances of hitting the hawk were very slim.....even slimmer if he was hitting low shots.

Again...imo, it is quite different than actually having a puppy in your hands and just tossing him like the soldier did.

I am quite sure he was hoping to hit one close enough to the bird to get him to fly away. I don't think he or any of the video crew around him (who said nothing to stop him) thought there was any chance in hell that he would actually hit the bird.

OK so my analogy was bad, I overreacted and take it back.

What I find funny is that he was filming a piece called "Shoot Like a Pro" yet he contends that he had "like a million to one chance" of actually hitting his target.( no wonder no one can compete with Tiger )

The fact is he took multiple shots at a protected bird in a tree from 75 yds, and was quoted as saying "I'll get him now"

"About the sixth ball came very close to the birds head and Isenhour got very excited", a few shots later he hit the bird.

Only after it died and got reported did he show remorse. The odds of him hitting it were a lot higher than you think. And yes the film crew should have stopped him too.

This happened in December, right?

Good thing it wasn't me and Big's trying to hit the hawk. Poor bird would have died falling from the tree after laughing so hard at us.

LOL, I'd be lucky to hit the tree, let alone a bird.

Yeh, I think it was early December, and just came out now. I read where one of the film crew was having nightmares, and finally had to report it.

Don't be so sure. There is one thing I can hit early and often.....that's a tree (or I should say trees). Now the bird? That's another story.
