Months for horse racing
 

What are your favorite, and least favorite months for racing?

My favorite would be August, my least favorite January.

Any day, month @ a track or OTB is my Fav. I must say I look forward to the Spa meet @ the time leading up to the Breeders Cup.

Its easy. The two worst are July and January. I love GP but there's so many layoff horses at GP (and OP as well) so January is tough for me. July is brutal because of the intense heat & humidity which the horses hate. It seems like July brings out the favorite/longshot syndrome, in which the winners are either under even money or over 20-1 (see Saturday's Claiming Crown and Summit of Speed as examples).

First day after Christmas,,,,, Santa Anita opens and the run for the Roses starts. The season is really over when the last triple crown race is run.

Favorite Month
 

AUGUST.
Saratoga and Del Mar.

Not even a close second month.

Least favorite are December and January...

This is easy. May, you have two of the TC races in the Derby and Preakness. The babies are starting to run and the older horses are gearing up for the Met Mile and other races.

The least favorite is Jan.

In the past, I would say definetely October, because Keeneland and Belmont are running and it is a lead up to the Breeders Cup, now that Keeneland has poly-track, it's down on the same level as a track like Turfway, but I guess as long as Belmont is running, nothing else really matters...

April. The final preps for the derby are the most exciting time and the weather has changed.

December is just terrible.

Best: October(Breeders Cup is Nov this year, though), August

Best: May - primarily because of the Derby/Preakness.
Worst: January - primarily because of the stupid Sunshine Million crap.

for me August 3-6 at Saratoga... 17 days away LOL

Most hated has to be December Although the Fair Grounds is running it still lacks any Turf racing what so ever.
Favorite has to be Late March thru Late April because Oaklawn is going strong until the 2nd Sat of April.
