Casey Tibbs savage video

I haven't seen this until today. The gray horse takes a bite out of the winner as he faded down the lane. The horse is a sore loser I guess  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mKLhDW6iKY&NR=1

Let GoodTimes Roll did the same thing at Saratoga once to a horse called Hit The Roof...

He was quite a "savage" N.Y.bred! :p

The most famous instance of one horse trying to 'savage' a horse whom he can't get past is the 1980 Tremont S, which was immortalized by the NYRA award-winning photo. Golden Derby had a lead and wasn't knuckling under to Great Prospector's run, so GP snaked his head around with teeth bared. Great photo. It is titled "The Savage", image should be available somewhere.

In fact, I found it here: http://marketplaceadvisor.channeladv...226&i=15277414

Some TB's are so competitive that if they can't run faster than the other horse, they try to intimidate it into submitting.

PS. GP's sire, Mr. Prospector was a hyper-competitive horse who also tried to enforce his position with his teeth on more than one occasion, according to an elderly gentleman I know, who witnessed many of his races. Mr. P's biggest contribution to the breed may have been his will to win.

Now, how many of you know whom the horse Casey Tibbs was named after?

Bull rider

Boy, howdy! That's selling Mr. Tibbs short. He was champion all-round rodeo cowboy back in the days when rodeo cowboys were cowboys first, before they became 'pro athletes.'

It was me a few weeks ago. Got a huge framed picture of it here in my living room. Great picture except for the part of the finger on the right

Ears go back, big rubbery horse lips bare those
teeth, get back. That really, really hurts.

Has anyone else been bitten on the shoulder
and had their clavicle pinched back?

pgardns rule while in barn:

never turn your back on a horse in a stall unless
more than a neck+head distance away.
Also never wear running shoes in barn.
Black toenails fall off after stepped on.

If you think running shoes are bad, try wearing flip flops. Hahaha :D

if any picture can encompass racing at its absolute finest, it's that one.

This one works too:

affirmed and aldyar in the belmont. hell of a race. and i was an alydar fan--poor alydar!!

i think the thing that really catches my eye tho in the SS/EG preakness is that they were in step with each other. you don't get it any closer than those two did without a dead heat. a bit longer nose for one...a bit of bad luck for the other.
