Wow , I am suprised. They were maybe one fumble recovery away from going to the super bowl. With that team, I really thought he was going to come back for one more season. Wip is right, it will be a little strange watching the Pack without #4.

I was at the game against the Bengals when Farve made his NFL debut. I have enjoyed watching him play for 17 seasons. My fav memory of his is when he played on Monday night against the Raiders after his father passed away.
Now the NFC north really sucks now. Pack loses Farve and I guess Rodgers gets the job, Chicago has no receivers and no QB, Lions look decent, and Minnesota looks like the team to beat. But, none of those teams really scare anyone. |
I was at his first game and it's amazing all the crap that has happened in my life since then. It really puts into perspective how long he played and how long the streak really was.
Nothing against Aikman, Montana or other greats, but I really think Favre did more with less overall talent over the years than any QB in history. |

5) Scramble into endzone to make playoffs against Atlanta in last game ever at County Stadium 4) Halloween Monsoon against Bears at Soldier Field 3) Monday Night against Raiders 2)Off balance bomb to Sterling Sharpe to beat Lions in Playoff game in '94(?) at SilverDome. 1) Coach Pants Pic...makes me really feel old |
Here is a nice little video about Farve's debut against the Bengals. O.J, Costas, and Buddy Ryan.

The MNF game had serious fantasy implications. I don't remember exactly the ordeal, but I know I had a huge lead, one where he needed 4TD's and a specific yardage, and he got the TD's and yardage by 1 friggin yard. On a side note, I do take pleasure in the Bears absolutely smoking Favre in the Lovie era. As a Bears fan, I can't stand him, and all the love, Madden will have zero to talk about now, but as a football fan, he was pretty darn good and his enthusiam is why people like sports |
Title should be
"Favre Has No Moss, Set to Retire" |
My top 5 Favre moments
5) Start of it all against the Bengals and the TD pass to Kitrick Taylor 4) Raiders Monday night game 3) Vikings game in 99 facing 4th and 1 with no timeouts and limited time he throws a TD to Bradford to win 23-20 (also could use the Freeman catch on the Farve bomb on Monday night to beat the wikings in OT in 2000) 2) Farve playing with a sprained ankle against the bears in 1995 and throws 5 TD's to win the game including a 99 yard TD pass to Robert Brooks 1) Superbowl XXXI- the audible he calls and throws a TD to Andre Rison in his 1st throw of the game setting the tone for Farve's only Superbowl win |

5) 5 (at least) INT Game against Rams in '03 playoffs 4) Any pre-1998 game in the Metrodome 3) 4 and 26 INT 2) Giants OT INT 1) Today |

I agree with Scav though -- I certainly have something close to zero love for the guy, being a serious homer for the Bears, but I at least appreciate what he did for the sport and for those who liked him. That said, this should just make for some even more fun Bears/Packers games in the coming year or two, as now I can't even find one reason the Packers MIGHT beat the Bears. |
