I know I shouldn't do this...but

What are your Daytona 500 predictions for today......

Jr. looks tough with his "new" family

MaTH716 02-17-2008 09:36 AM

JR. runs second while helping his new teamate Jeff Gordon win the Daytona 500 and all the Earnhardt fans lose their F'N minds and burn down the track.

The soap opera between these three will be better this year than Days of Our Lives :p

Mikeyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!

Gotta love those gold wheels on the 50th running....

SCUDSBROTHER 02-17-2008 11:43 AM

My prediction is:WHITE TRASH GUNNA CRASH.

Actually, would like to see Mark Martin win it at 62 years of age.

ddthetide 02-17-2008 01:50 PM

i'd like to see the Flyin 9 win it.

Charismatic1 02-17-2008 04:26 PM

I've liked Kyle Busch to win since the start of speedweeks. He's kicking @$$ right now, but I'm always weary of the guy dominating to win the 500. It rarely seems to happen; I remember Rusty Wallace in '99. I'm in a pool with 5 of my NASCAR buddies where we draft five drivers for each race. I'm glad I was able to get Kyle Busch in round 1 with the 5th pick and his brother in round 2. I rounded out my lineup with McMurray, Sorenson, and Montoya. I'm happy now that Kurt has moved into contention. It does look tough for me to win the cash for overall average finish, though. Several guys I wanted got picked right before me. I'd actually like to see someone "rare" win such as Truex, Sorenson, Mears, Bowyer, etc.

A lot of excitement there.....if I was 6'8" and..........

never mind! :o

ddthetide 02-18-2008 07:03 AM

the best part of nascar is the pre-race, the first 10 laps, then come back to it for that last 20 laps.

the nba... i wouldn't watch if the were playing in the lot acrossed the street from my house.

I wouldn't go that far,now.

Only knowledgable sports fans can truly appreciate the NBA and NASCAR. NBA is probably the 2nd best sport in the nation behind the NFL. NASCAR...well it takes someone that understands and appreciate what it takes to make a car go 1/10th of a second faster, how drafting works, what it means to make a trackbar adjustment. It is hard, but once you get all that down then NASCAR is very fun.

Mortimer 02-19-2008 03:15 PM

I know I shouldn't do this.

You were right.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-19-2008 03:37 PM

It is just "o.k." I liked betting on it for a while, but once you figure out the stuff Whodey is talking about,it doesn't keep getting more fun.You realize this is pretty much the same **** each week. The size of the tracks change somewhat, but they pretty much keep turning left on oval tracks. The road races are pretty good, but there are only a few guys that can drive these cars well on a road course. They had a good start to the year on Sunday.Usually in that Daytona 500,the car leading the last few laps just keeps leading to the wire. They actually had a lead change in the final lap.2 guys actually worked together to win the race.Really though, they need some sort of service to tell people when it's time to watch the last 10 laps or so.You really do have to be pretty slow, tired or lazy to be able to watch a whole 3-4 hours of that stuff.I don't think they try to keep it a white sport.I just think it's mainly whites that can keep watching that for 3-4 hours.I heard they started having preachers give a pre-race prayer, and ending it "in Jesus name-Amen," but I haven't seen them myself do that. They probably do.

I can't figure out why "whites" watch the NBA.....and listen to rap music! :D to each his own...but I find NASCAR a little bit more exciting than the "homies" running up and down the court & slamming the ball on the pro level. Then again, watching golf on t.v. is a complete bore to me too. Now, you can't beat college basketball, especially during March Madness...those first two days of the tournament are the best two days in sports.....bar none!
