A steal.

^^^ Now dressing as Laker elf.

IrishofNDMan 02-01-2008 03:15 PM

like Pillow said, Kwame "shouldb't be in the league" Brown, 19 yr old Crittendon, 1st round pick in 2008 and 2010, and the draft rights to Pau Gasol's brother Marc Gasol, who is playing in Spain and is a longshot to ever come to the states to play.

Lakers get Pau Gasol and a 2nd round draft pick. Damn good deal! Gasol will work into the triangle nicely.

If the deal had been done two days ago, they might have got the Twins to throw in Santana

This is a pretty good trade for the Lakers....

Could the Lakers be starting to look like the Bulls (and i am not equating players to players here, but how they looked)

Jordan - Bryant
Pippen - Odom
Grant/Rodman/Kukoc - Walton/Ariza
BJ/Kerr - Fisher
Cartwright - Bynum/Gasol

The last one, Gasol-Cartwright is kind of a stretch but the others match up pretty well, as far as what they can do.

Yes...READ what I wrote. The Bulls would SMOKE that team, but the skills of the players match up pretty close to those Bulls players.....Do I have to detail this for you?

SentToStud 02-01-2008 04:10 PM

No one would mistake Lamar Odom for Pippen. Brad Sellers or Orlando Woolridge, maybe.

I have posted some dumb posts and I have read some dumb posts but this is by far the dumbest and worse thoughtout post I have ever read on here or anywhere else for that matter.

Bryant is nowhere near the talent level or Jordan--Odom is nowhere near Pippen--Walton and Ariza compared to Grant, Rodman and Kukoc--laughable and Cartwright was very underrrated as a big man in that Bulls system, Bynum has the looks of a big time player so I will say that that the last comparison of players is equal but may tilt towards Bynum and Gasol when it is all said and done.

Scav 02-01-2008 04:11 PM

Jordan and Bryant are the same player, except Jordan was better, quicker

Pippen and Oden are both slashers, both can hit the 3 and both rebound. Both can also control the ball. Good passers

Walton is probably the one far out there. But is solid from 18 in like Grant, can rebound, and hit the three once in a while, like Kukoc

Fisher is probably better then Kerr and BJ Armstrong. Both were good floor generals and leaders, all three find a way to get the ball into the studs hands, while all three hit clutch shots when needed

Cartwright was solid from about 10 in, and Bynum is getting there. Both rebound and can take up the others big.

Gasol is probably closer to Kukoc then Cartwright

READ WHAT I WROTE hilarious guy. it is obvious that the TALENT level on the Bulls was MUCH GREATER, but the players have the same TYPE of skills, and I JUST DETAILED it for ya

Did you just say that Jordan and Bryant are the same player, but Jordan was better and quicker!!! Good lord--you can do this with anyone. Lets see here......Paul Pierce and Jordan are the same player but Jordan was better and quicker....Melo and Pippen are the same player, but Pippen was better etc etc. This list can go on and on and on. Take any slasher in the NBA and you can compare their skill set with any other slasher. But when it comes to talent, the Lakers are no where near the level the Bulls were at.

Odom vs. Pippen? Pippen is in or going to be in the HOF mostly as a great defender who had good transition skills. Odom rarely bothers with defense.

Kukoc should not be in the Grant/Rodman group as he was a totally different type of player than th other 2. Grant was a rebounder and post defender. Rodman was a rebounder and versitile defender to the extreme. Kukoc was a perimeter shooter who rarely played post defense and was a poor rebounder for his size. Walton is a match with Kukoc perhaps but isnt nearly the scorer he was though a better passer. Ariza is not compatable with any of these guys

Bj/Kerr combo vs Fischer is not too bad

Cartwright was an immobile, traditional center with a good touch and passable post defense. Bynum is an athletic, mobile type of modern center. Gasol is not really a center.

Jordan/Kobe is ok

2 out of 5?

whodey17 02-01-2008 04:22 PM

My favorite thing to watch when Rodman played was the way he guarded Shaq. Amazing that a 6'8 guy totally stopped Shaq. It was awesome.

Did you not see Michael Jordan play? Bryant has the EXACT same game as him. There is no difference in the type of game they play, on both sides of the court. Jordan was just better at him but not by much.

Paul Pierce to Jordan, OH MY, MELO to Jordan, OH MY.

Did you just say that Cartwright had good touch? Come on now....

I'll agree regarding the Grant/Rodman debate, but Walton is Kukoc

I am going to sit on the Pippen/Oden comparsion, I was never a fan of Pippen, thought he was a douche bag thus I probably devalue him, especially defensively

Kobe plays at two levels, the good level and the need a stop level. He also steps up defensively when he gets challenged like Jordan used to. I used to love watching him play D against Detroit and New York, he would just shut people down.
