Thanks Steve, any chance of asking Jones about Eight Belles and Sadler about Exhale (who just worked for the first time in a long time)?

Ron Charles just now on ATR.. Racing a go Saturday unless something unforeseen occurs. Working on track through the night, scraping 1.5" off the top. Turf course "good", and has handled the rain very well...

Sunday-Monday almost certainly cancelled..

Here's what I don't get.....if the surface is unsafe for racing yesterday and today.....and supposedly for Sunday and Monday......how can it be considered safe on Saturday? Or, is it only safe it's a big day for the owner?

This sounds like an accident waiting to happen and a very poor decision.

Is Gaines still running Nashoba's Key??

I agree, this makes no sense to me whatsoever! I just pray for this not to be a series of horrible breakdowns, and how do these jocks feel about this decision? The $ is green, but lives are at risk both human and equine!

are they starting work on the track after saturdays racing? maybe that's why...i hope that's why, otherwise it makes no sense.

It seems to me, if the track is safe, they should at least run on Sunday, a weekend day. If they need a couple extra days for the work then Monday through Friday should suffice.

Hey, what do I know, I'm sure the track is fine for tomorrow and everyone is just thrilled they are running. I mean, honestly, cancelling the Sunshine Millions is like cancelling the Fourth of July.

Supposedly they are going to get another 2 inches of rain Saturday night so Sunday is pretty much out. I really question what kind of surface they will be left with after scraping 2 inches of slop off the top. Lets hope it safe.

I don't even know where to begin handicapping it. Scraping the cushion off the cushion track leaves what? Are the 25k claimers going to be running 6F in 1:06 flat?

You bring up a good point. Undoubtably, somehow the handle will be extraordinary, but who is going to be betting serious money? I guess it's easy for me to say, as I won't bet that surface, but even if I did I would be reticent tomorrow.

The handle comparison to last year's Sunshine Millions card at Santa Anita could be interesting.

Georgie Boy is not running tommorow
