I'm really happy English Channel won the turf award, as he's one of the most underrated (and undersized) horses I've ever seen, but the Academy Award style has to go. Scatorchio rambling on is pretty typical of the extending of the awards wayyyy too long.

Lahodood shouldn't have won.

As an aside, one of my really good friends presented the media awards (Tom Law, editor of T-Times.) I've never seen him that nervous!

Adena is the best farm out there. Even if he can't run a racetrack.

Yeah but Best Breeder and then you see his son behind him...it's just not right.

I think he's a nice horse who was born at the right time. I credit him for his longevity, at a reasonable level, but not for having any sort of extraordinary talent. Frankly, it is a condemnation of turf racing in America that he was far and away our best horse last year.

Handicapper of the year is Andy Serling.
