The guy was driving drunk on his birthday. Brilliant.

When people drink, they sure can't seem to see red lights,or avoid still objects.I think we are gunna have to start putting up force fields that won't allow you to enter an intersection on a red light.Aren't cars still made of some metal? Put magnets under the street(in a graduated way=more as you get closer to the intersection.)Activate the magnets to stop idiots from going through the intersection on a red light. Can't the authorities and the drunks agree this would be a good thing? I don't think telling them "don't drink n' drive" is working very well.As far as still objects go..There is no hope.I mean how sad are you if you can't avoid running over a row of mailboxes?

You would think that he has made enough money to get a car service for the night. If he was drunk, what an idiot.

The fact of the matter is, anyone leaving a bar at any time, but certainly that early in the morning, who gets behind a wheel of a vehicle, is more likely than not driving while impaired. It is so obvious, yet to do something about it would basically destroy the industry. So instead, we "hope" that everyone makes it home safely. Jim Leyritz is not a bad guy (as far as I know), this was a tragic mistake, that all involved will be paying for (both victims and perpetrator).
