Anybody doing well at Churchill?

Maybe its just me but I've never seen a rougher CD meet. I find the spring meet tends to be more beatable than the fall meet but this current meet has been brutal for me.

yes i am loving this meet.

hoovesupsideyourhead 11-18-2007 05:49 PM

As soon as I saw you posted here I knew you had beaten me to it.

I've actually revaluated my opinion of his betting. Based on his opinion he should be betting less.

Not too far in the hole... but, nonetheless, in the hole.

I think it will always be difficult handicapping the main track at CD because it will follow two synthetic meetings. There will be a lot of guess work with horses jumping from synthetic to natural dirt surfaces. With big fields and plenty of guessing, it makes for great handicapping and plenty of hefty mutuals.

i put a lot of hours in. wasn't an easy meet so far. mostly stick to dirt routes. tyis is a joockey meet , know the jockeys . eat a lot of lobster drink a lot of beer and watch a lot of replays and you should be fyne:D

oh yea sterling is great when he is on a public top 4 (because he sucks and is an auto toss ... chirping slow horses out the gate into speed duels and finishing 2ned or 3rd with the best animal!) , and hernadez is money when he isn't public top 4 (or when he is anything o n turf dam the guy is an honest jock ) best f..ing kept secret on the meet thank you hernandez wish i had my inet account when i saw you on that 50 -1 and you were a lock for the super! ...

to be honest put a lot of hours in and made a few hundred on saturday, and up175 on the selections forum... its a tough meet but its a honest meet. I hate that stynthetic crap in cali , and the newyork cards are hit n miss right now.
Churchill is the best thing going right now.

I have been going really good this meet, but CD is my bread and butter. I am glad it follows Kee, where I SUCK!

The main has been rather tricky this meet. One day, like opening day, the track will be real tiring. Then the next day will be like Sat. and be a paved highway for front runners.

My wagering plan has been to watch the early races on the card and get a feel for the track, then attack after the early pick 4.

I think you hit the nail on the head. And at the fall meet, they really put the emphasis on 2YO racing, where many of the horses have only run on synthetic. By the spring meet, many of the horses will be coming back from GP, FG and OP so they'll have enough true dirt races to gauge their form.

Favorites are winning at a 35% clip for the current CD meet at average winning odds of 5.31, which are pretty strong compared to other tracks, and in line I think with historical norms.

by contrast the current hollywood meet is at 28% winning favorites and 6.35 average winning odds.

Didn't get a chance to follow the Fall meet at all.

Going to work at focusing on the Fairgrounds this winter, with a little Tampa Bay Downs thrown in. Might try to tackle Gulfstream..........
