I'd take Hard Spun for $50,000.

Don't you think he'd be a little big for you? Go for it, dude!

First, I'm not a "dude" and second, how do you know how "big" he is?????

HS's book is probably already filled - I can only envison Sheik Mo at the front door " So sorry, but have I got a deal for you! AGS and Discreet Cat are both available to fill your mare's greatest desires" :D :D 40K ..."such a deal"!!

Well first off, I would never own a mare that was willing to do double penetration..

Second, you should be ashamed.

That's not outrageous for the way the market is right now. . . He might be the best bred horse (Hard Spun's ped is nice too) out of the ones who retired after the BC. . . Distorted Humor on top and A.P. Indy on the bottom- both tied with Storm Cat for having the highest stud fee. . .

Two firsts on on one thread, impressive.

:)

The crown weighs heavy on 2 Kings tonight.

slotdirt 11-08-2007 07:40 AM

Could be a decent alternative to Distorted Humor himself...

Let me be the first to say, he has done enough.

Cajungator26 11-08-2007 12:02 PM

He should be a success at stud in my honest opinion... his second dam is the dam of Second of June and Jack Flash (who is now a dressage horse.)

If I had a nice mare that nicked well with him, he would be one of the first ones I would go to for sure.

Coach Pants 11-08-2007 12:06 PM

If I owned a mare that's who I would send to. He's the now horse.

Also If I were president Tuesday's would be Taco Tuesday.

You're too late. They already used the #1 alternative to "he's done enough":

From the drf article:

John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock advisor, said, "Sheikh Mohammed considered keeping Any Given Saturday in training but it was decided that it was in the horse’s best interest to retire him to stud... "

Sounds like there's a physical issue that was being managed.

I doubt it, I think they know the chance of his value decreasing by running next year is better than the chance of increasing it since he wants nothing to do with 10 furlongs and by "in the horse's best interest" they really mean "in our own best interest of maximizing the value of the horse".
